As medical imaging continues to expand, concerns about the potential risks of ionizing radiation to the developing fetus have led to a preference for non-radiation-based alternatives such as ultrasonography and fetal MRI. This review examines the current evidence on the safety of MRI during pregnancy, with a focus on 3 T MRI and contrast agents, aiming to provide a comprehensive synthesis that informs clinical decision-making, ensures fetal safety and supports the safe use of all available modalities that could impact management. We conducted a comprehensive review of studies from 2000 to 2024 on MRI safety during pregnancy, focusing on 3 T MRI and gadolinium use.

In this study, the effects were explored of digestive enzymes and pH on the bioaccessibility of polyphenols, flavonoids, and antioxidant activities in Hojicha (roasted green tea, RT) infusions during simulated in vitro digestion. Roasting modifies its polyphenolic profile and reduces bitterness, making it a popular variation of green tea. Fermentable oligo-, di-, and monosaccharides as well as polyols (FODMAPs) came into focus following recent clinical studies confirming that they worsen the symptoms of several gastrointestinal disorders suffered by 40% of the general population. Grana Padano (GP) is an Italian hard cooked cheese characterized by a long ripening process and high protein and Ca contents. After in vitro static simulated gastrointestinal digestion, GP digest contained caseinophosphopeptides that were 6 to 24 amino acids in length, including tri-phosphorylated species incorporating the pSer-pSer-pSer-Glu-Glu cluster. Using rat ileum tissue, the digest was used to assess Ca absorption ex vivo, which showed significantly better results for the GP digest in comparison to the CaCO aqueous solution.

The present study aims to investigate the effects of Perfluorolauric Acid (PFLA) on the gut microbiota community and the physiological health of mice. The experiment was conducted by setting a control group (CTRL) and an experimental group (PFLA), exposing mice to PFLA and observing changes in their gut microbiota community and physiological health indicators. The results showed that exposure to PFLA significantly altered the β diversity of the gut microbiota in mice, as evidenced by NMDS, PCoA, and PCA analyses, indicating a clear change in microbial community structure between the PFLA group and the CTRL group.
