Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify novel vaginal probiotics with the potential to prevent vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) and bacterial vaginosis (BV).
Materials And Methods: Eighteen strains of were isolated from healthy Korean women, and their antimicrobial effects against and were assessed. Three strains ( LM1203, LM1209, and LM1215) were selected for further investigation, focusing on their growth inhibition, biofilm regulation, and cellular mechanisms against these vaginal pathogens.

Cytolytic vaginosis or, classically, Doderlein's cytolysis is characterized by significant growth of species of the genus, which leads to high amounts of lactic acid in the vaginal environment. has been proposed as a key pathogen in this clinical condition. The symptomatology of cytolytic vaginosis is commonly confused with that of vulvovaginal candidosis, leading to inadequate and ineffective azole therapies.

Vaginitis presentations are common, but traditional diagnostic methods are imperfect. Molecular methods for bacterial vaginosis (BV) and vulvovaginal candidiasis (CV) are increasingly available but not commonly utilized in Aotearoa New Zealand. We evaluated the Hologic Aptima BV and CV/ (TV) assays against our current methods (Gram stain, yeast culture, and Hologic Aptima TV assay) and performed a retrospective BV clinical audit.

Aim: To investigate an influence of age and body mass index (BMI) as determinants of infertility treatment success in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures confirmed so far, on the amount of Lactobacilus spp. (LS) and Gardnerella vaginalis (GV) in the endometrium in fresh IVF cycles at the time of embryo transfer.
Methods: This a prospective single-centre study included patients who underwent fresh embryo transfer (ET) in a private IVF Centre.

Background: In western Kenya, menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is a pervasive problem. Challenges are compounded for economically constrained women who continue to engage in sex during menses and resort to practices such as vaginal insertion of tissue and cotton to maintain dryness during sex. These practices can be harmful to the vaginal microbiome (VMB) and can lead to high rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV.

Lichen sclerosus is a chronic inflammatory condition of unknown etiology that affects the genital and extragenital skin, which can lead to sexual dysfunction and has been associated with vulvar cancer. The vaginal microbiome has a critical role in gynecologic health, but little is known about the microbiome in lichen sclerosus. This study investigated the vaginal and vulvar microbiomes of 27 post-menopausal women with lichen sclerosus.
