Background: The efficacy of the 14-day esomeprazole-amoxicillin (EA) dual therapy in eradicating () has been widely discussed previously. Vonoprazan, a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker, presents rapid, potent, and long-lasting acid inhibitory effects compared to esomeprazole. However, there is currently a scarcity of direct comparisons between the 10-day vonoprazan-amoxicillin (VA) and the 14-day EA dual therapy for eradication.

Beyond the rapid achievements of therapeutic heterobifunctional molecules, some recent efforts have focused on constructing heterotrifunctional molecules, aiming at developing more potent and selective therapeutic agents or emerging additional functions to heterobifunctional molecules. However, the synthesis of these complex molecules requires a specific design and lengthy steps. We have developed a two-step strategy for the modular construction of heterotrifunctional molecules, enabled by the sustainable and convenient iodosulfonylation of allenes followed by S2'-selective amination.

In the context of the growing importance of heterocyclic compounds across various disciplines, numerous strategies for their construction have emerged. Exploiting the distinctive properties of cyclopropenes, this study introduces an innovative approach for the synthesis of benzo-fused five-membered oxa- and aza-heterocycles through a formal [4+1] cyclization and subsequent acid-catalyzed intramolecular O- to N- rearrangement. These transformations exhibit mild reaction conditions and a wide substrate scope.

Background: Bile duct injury (BDI) is a severe complication following cholecystectomy and is therefore a particularly concerning surgical predicament for hepatobiliary surgeons. Owing to very high medical compensation awarded to patients suffering from BDI, surgeons need to exercise caution during surgery to avoid BDI. Herein, we explored a novel method to identify cystic duct during laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC), expanding the applicability of this surgical approach.

Background: Lactylation, a newly discovered PTM involving lactic acid, is linked to solid tumor proliferation and metastasis. Lymphoma patients exhibit high lactic acid levels, yet lactylation's role in lymphoma is underexplored. This study aimed to identify lactylation-related genes in lymphoma using tumor databases and assess their predictive value in patient prognosis through cell experiments and clinical specimens.

Ferroptosis, characterized by lipid peroxidation, plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis (AP). While sterol O-acyltransferase 2 (Soat2) is known for its crucial regulatory role in cholesterol homeostasis, its involvement in the development of AP remains unreported. We conducted this study to identify the pivotal role of Soat2 in AP using transcriptomic databases.

Arterial stiffness measured by pulse wave velocity and pulse wave analysis has been widely studied in different populations in terms of its correlation with cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality. It remains unknown which arterial stiffness index is better for risk stratification in the general population. We included 4129 participants from Gaoyou County, Jiangsu Province, China, with a median follow-up of 11 years.

Background: Postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) is a common and serious consequence of gastrectomy. The prevalence of POPF among patients with gastric cancer varies greatly, and the risk factors and outcomes of POPF are also controversial. The meta-analysis aims to comprehensively assess the risk factors for POPF in gastric cancer patients.

Cisplatin has been widely applied in the clinical treatment of various cancers, whereas liver injury induced by its hepatotoxicity is still a severe issue. Reliable identification of early-stage cisplatin-induced liver injury (CILI) can improve clinical care and help to streamline drug development. Traditional methods, however, cannot achieve enough information at the subcellular level due to the requirement of the labeling process and low sensitivity.

Clinically, activated EGFR mutation associated chemo-drugs resistance has severely threaten NSCLC patients. Nanoparticle based small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapy representing another promising alternative by silencing specific gene while still suffered from charge associated toxicity, strong immunogenicity and poor targetability. Herein, we reported a novel EGFR-mutant NSCLC therapy relying on edible and cation-free kiwi-derived extracellular vesicles (KEVs), which showed sevenfold enhancement of safe dosage compared with widely used cationic liposomes and could be further loaded with Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 interfering RNA (siSTAT3).

To address this issue, a facile and nanosized oxygen (O) bubble template is established by mixing oxygenated water and water-soluble solvents for guiding hollow polydopamine (HPDA) synthesis, and O is encapsulated in the cavity of HPDA. HPDA with abundant catechol is designed as a carrier for zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc, a boronic acid modified photosensitizer) borate ester bonds to fabricate nanomedicine (denoted as HZNPs).

Dysbiosis is a crucial manifestation of dyslipidemia; however, oral supplementation of probiotic modulates the intestinal commensal composition. The protective mechanism of probiotics against hyperlipidemia is still under investigation. To elucidate the hypolipidemic effect of TR08 through the analysis of gut microbiota and lipid metabolomics, we investigated changes in gut microbiota and lipid metabolomic phenotypes in mice by real time quantitative PCR and untargeted metabolomics analysis.

With the development of resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) technology, the functional connectivity network (FCN) which reflects the statistical similarity of temporal activity between brain regions has shown promising results for the identification of neuropsychiatric disorders. Alteration in FCN is believed to have the potential to locate biomarkers for classifying or predicting schizophrenia (SZ) from healthy control. However, the traditional FCN analysis with stationary assumption, i.

Background: The complications of postoperative pain, such as hypertension, hypermetabolism, irritability, and postoperative cognitive dysfunction, significantly affect the postoperative rehabilitation of elderly patients. Intrathecal morphine prolongs analgesia after surgery, but has been implicated in nausea and vomiting, pruritus, postoperative respiratory depression, or apneic episodes. The present study explored the effect and safety of low-dose morphine used adjunctively with bupivacaine during single spinal anesthesia or sufentanil patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) in elderly patients with hip fracture surgery.
