Aims: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) stands as a prevalent obstetric complication bearing consequential health implications for both mother and child. While existing studies have probed the alterations in acylcarnitines during GDM, an updated systematic meta-analysis is needed to consolidate these findings. Hence, this study endeavours to furnish a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis delineating the association between acylcarnitines and GDM, aimed at bolstering diagnostic accuracy and preventive measures against GDM.

We report a case of 57-year-old male patient with extensive scrotal idiopathic calcium salt deposits with multiple masses fused into a mass occupying 2/3 of the scrotal area. The scrotal mass was completely removed surgically and the postoperative pathology was consistent with idiopathic calcium deposits in the scrotum. In this article, we report this case of idiopathic calcium salt deposits in the scrotum and review the literature to provide some experience for clinical practitioners.

Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of vitamin D (VD) in the treatment of idiopathic oligoasthenozoospermia.
Methods: This study included 86 infertile men with idiopathic oligoasthenozoospermia, who were randomized to a VD and a control group of equal number, the former given oral VD 200 IU/d and calcium 600 mg/d,qd, while the latter administered oral vitamin E 100 mg and vitamin C 100 mg, tid. After 3 months of medication, we compared the semen parameters, adverse reactions, and pregnancy rate between the two groups.
