Agricultural production frequently encounters challenges, including soil nitrogen pollution and imbalances resulting from improper irrigation and fertilization practices. This study focuses on wolfberry farmland, analyzing the effects of four irrigation levels [full irrigation (W0, 75%-85% θ), mild water deficit (W1, 65%-75% θ), moderate water deficit (W2, 55%-65% θ), and severe water deficit (W3, 45%-55% θ)] and four nitrogen application levels [no nitrogen application (N0, 0 kg·ha), low nitrogen application (N1, 150 kg·ha), medium nitrogen application (N2, 300 kg·ha), and high nitrogen application (N3, 450 kg·ha)] on nitrogen uptake by wolfberry plants, soil nitrogen loss, plant-soil nitrogen balance, and nitrogen use efficiency. The results indicate that: (1) Plant dry matter yield (1338.

miR-19-3p has been implicated in various pathological and physiological processes, including immune response, inflammation, oncogenesis and cell damage. However, its function in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) has not been well elucidated. In this study, the expression patterns of miR-19-3p and target gene DExH-Box helicase 58 (DHX58) in rainbow trout infected with infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) were detected, and regulatory mechanism and function of miR-19-3p were investigated by overexpression and inhibition experiment in vitro and in vivo.

Melatonin (Mel), an important mediator of photoperiodic annual rhythm regulation and seasonal reproduction in animals, directly modulates the expression of specific genes in the epididymis and protects sperm from oxidative damage. Bactrian camel is a dominant species in desert and semi-desert areas, exhibiting the unique reproductive regulation patterns. However, the underlying regulation mechanism of Mel on Bactrian camel is still unclear.

Unlabelled: Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) is an emerging porcine enteric coronavirus causing significant economic losses to the pig farming industry globally. In this study, we expressed the S protein of a highly virulent PDCoV strain in the CHO eukaryotic expression system. After immunizing alpaca with the PDCoV S protein and employing the phage display library technique, a high-affinity and specific nanobody Nb3 against PDCoV S protein was successfully established by three rounds of biopanning and a phage enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Tuber dormancy and sprouting are significant for potato cultivation, storage, and processing. Although the substantial role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in some biological processes has been recognized, the critical role of miRNA in breaking potato tuber dormancy is not well understood to date. In this investigation, we expand research on miRNA-mediated gene regulation in tuber dormancy release.

Common wheat production is significantly influenced by abiotic stresses. Identifying the genetic loci for seedling root traits and developing the available molecular markers are crucial for breeding high yielding and stable varieties. In this study, five wheat seedling root traits, including root length (RL), root surface area (RA), root volume (RV), number of root tips (RT), and root dry weight (RW), were measured in the Wp-072/Wp-119 recombinant inbred line (RIL) population.

In the context of increasing water scarcity and environmental pollution, this study investigates the synthesis and application of p(AA-Oco-AAm)-g-Citrus Sinensis Peel hydrogel (CSP hydrogel) to enhance soil water retention and remove organic dyes from wastewater. Hydrogels were prepared using a combination of acrylamide and acrylic acid, with the incorporation of citrus peel as a natural resource. The water absorption capacity of the hydrogels was evaluated, achieving a maximum retention rate of 477 g/g, significantly improving the water-holding ability of various soil types.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic and progressive inflammatory gastrointestinal disease closely associated with gut microbiota dysbiosis and metabolic homeostasis disruption. Although targeted microbial therapies are an emerging intervention strategy for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), the mechanisms by which specific probiotics, such as 016 (LF), alleviate UC remain unclear. The current study evaluated the effects of LF supplementation on gut health in a basal model using C57BL/6 mice.

Saline-alkali stress is a major abiotic stress factor that adversely affects the growth, development, and yield of crops by disrupting ion homeostasis, osmotic balance, and metabolic processes. This study was designed to explore the alleviating effect of melatonin on the growth and development of tomato plants under saline-alkali stress conditions and to screen for optimal concentrations to alleviate the stress. Tomato variety 'Condine Red' was used as the test material, and a total of six treatments were designed including no saline-alkali stress and no melatonin spray as control (CK), and foliar spraying of 0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 µmol·L melatonin under saline-alkali stress (75 mmol·L), which were used to determine the growth and photosynthetic characteristics of tomato plants.

Detecting complete viral particles in vaccines is essential for both monitoring vaccine production and ensuring vaccine quality. Currently, sucrose density gradient centrifugation is the standard method for measuring the antigen content in conventional inactivated vaccines, but it requires specialized equipment and skilled personnel. Recently, BODIPY (BDP) dyes have gained attention in biomolecular studies due to their modifiable parent structure, although their use in macromolecular proteins remains limited.

Light-converting films enhance photosynthesis, yet most phosphors' low quantum efficiency restricts their application. This work finds that the co-substitution of Na and Gd for Ca in CaMgWO:Mn(CMWO: Mn) significantly enhances the deep red emission by nearly tenfold. The phosphor can emit red light with a peak at 688 nm under near-ultraviolet excitation, and an external quantum efficiency of 51.
