Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture (acupuncture for soothing the liver and regulating the spirit) on the protein kinase C/extracellular signal-regulated kinase/cAMP response element-binding protein (PKC/ERK/CREB) signaling pathway in the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST) of rats with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and to explore the mechanism of acupuncture on alleviating anxiety and fear in PTSD.

Methods: Fifty SPF-grade male SD rats were randomly divided into a blank group (10 rats) and a PTSD model group (40 rats). The PTSD model was induced by using a combination of closed electric shock and forced exhaustive swimming.

  • The paper discusses a professor's clinical approach to treating wrist rheumatoid arthritis using acupotomy mobilization, focusing on muscle regions associated with three specific hand meridians.
  • The professor argues that this form of arthritis is linked to issues in the meridian muscle areas, emphasizing the need for targeted treatment of these regions.
  • By applying acupotomy mobilization and stimulating both the foci (knotted sites) and acupoints, the therapy aims to address both the musculoskeletal and meridian dysfunctions simultaneously.

  • The study aims to assess the effects of electro-scalp acupuncture (ESA) on neural function and inflammation in rats with ischemic stroke and to understand how ESA modulates the IL-12 mediated JAK/STAT signaling pathway as a treatment mechanism.
  • Ninety male rats were used, with 74 undergoing a model of ischemic stroke, characterized by a specific neurological score; these were divided into three treatment groups to compare the effects of ESA, an IL-12 inhibitor, and no intervention.
  • Results showed that all treatment groups (ESA, IL-12 inhibitor) had improved neurological and neurobehavioral scores, indicating that both methods positively influenced recovery from ischemic stroke compared to the control group
