Difficult airway management in a patient with severe mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, rapid atrial fibrillation, and moderate pulmonary hypertension: a case report.

Background: Given the prevalence of cardiovascular disease, encountering difficult airways in this patient population is quite common. The challenge for anesthesiologists lies not only in establishing the airway but also in managing the hemodynamic instability caused by sympathetic activation during intubation. The purpose of this report is to describe the anesthetic experience of this patient with severe mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, and moderate pulmonary hypertension with an anticipated difficult airway.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is a common and highly aggressive brain tumor with a poor prognosis for patients. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between GBM and normal tissues were obtained by data mining the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases.

Cerebellar ataxia with anti-mGluR1 auto-antibody in a pediatric patient: A case report.

Cerebellar ataxia (CA) related to anti-metabolic glutamate receptor 1 (mGluR1) is a rare autoimmune encephalitis, which is manifested as acute or subacute CA in most cases.To the best of our knowledge, only three cases of pediatric patients have been reported in the literature so far. This article reports the 4th case of mGluR1 related CA in a pediatric patient.

Radiation therapy (RT) is one of the common and widely used treatment method for thyroid tumors. Considering that the thyroid is located close to the heart, the radiation generated during the treatment of thyroid tumors may have an adverse greater impact on the heart. This study is to explore the influencing factors, especially additional effects of RT, on cardiac-specific death among patients with malignant thyroid tumors.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a common disease of the nervous system, including primary and secondary injuries. Neuronal inflammation after SCI is the most important pathological process of SCI and a chemical barrier to nerve function recovery after injury. Ski, an evolutionarily conserved functional transcriptional regulator protein, is upregulated in reactive astrocytes after SCI and regulates the biological characteristics of astrocytes.

Transcription Factor SP2 Regulates Ski-mediated Astrocyte Proliferation In Vitro.

Transcription factors bind specific sequences upstream of the 5' end of their target genes to ensure proper spatiotemporal expression of the target gene. This study aims to demonstrate that the transcription factor SP2 regulates expression of the Ski gene, which has specific binding sites for SP2, and thus enables Ski to regulate astrocyte proliferation. The upstream regulation mechanism of astrocyte proliferation was explored to further regulate the formation of glial scar in specific time and space after spinal cord injury.

Post-radical-hysterectomy (RH) patients suffer from a series of problems resulting from neurovascular injury, such as bladder dysfunction, which reduce their quality of life. We have designed this study to evaluate the efficacy of transcutaneous electrical stimulation (TENS) on patient rehabilitation after RH for early cervical cancer. A total of 97 patients were enrolled in a randomized-controlled trial (from January 2015 to December 2019) involving 7 medical centers nationwide.
