Due to the considerable controversy among currently published studies on the application of intraoperative rSO2 monitoring in adult patients undergoing elective non-cardiac surgery, this study aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to provide more comprehensive and robust evidence to support clinical decision-making.

Introduction: This systemic review examines the effectiveness and safety of combining traditional Chinese medicine with standard therapy in the treatment of mild to moderate cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Methodology: We retrieved articles from PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang, Weipi (VIP), and China Biology Medicine disc (CBM). The deadline for retrieval was 20 August 2022, and it was updated on 1 July 2023.

Diaphragmatic pheochromocytoma: Two case reports and a review of the literature.

Rationale: Pheochromocytomas typically arise in the adrenal medulla, whereas ectopic pheochromocytomas/paragangliomas commonly occur near the abdominal aorta, bladder, mediastinum, and head. Diaphragmatic pheochromocytomas are exceedingly rare, and there is limited surgical experience with their treatment.

The effects of micronutrients on GEP-NETs have been explored in observational studies, but with inconsistent results. We conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (TSMR) study to investigate whether micronutrients influence the risk of GEP-NETs.

Establishment and validation of a nomogram model for early diagnosis of gastric cancer: a large-scale cohort study.

Purpose: Identifying high-risk populations and diagnosing gastric cancer (GC) early remains challenging. This study aimed to establish and verify a nomogram model for the early diagnosis of GC based on conventional laboratory indicators.

Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 2,770 individuals with first diagnosis of GC and 1,513 patients with benign gastric disease from January 2018 to December 2022.

Incidence of type 1 diabetes in Gansu Province, Northwest China from 2018 to 2022: a multicenter, hospitalization-based study.

Objective: To survey the epidemiology of type 1 diabetes in all age groups living in the Gansu Province, China during 2018-2022.

Methods: Using the data from the Gansu Province Health Commission Information Center and medical records, the crude incidence and 95%CI were calculated by region, age group, and sex assuming a Poisson distribution. The incidence differences were evaluated using the χ2 test.

Progress in the study of mefloquine as an antibiotic adjuvant for combination bacterial inhibition treatment.

Antimicrobial resistance is among the greatest threats to public health globally, and drug repurposing strategies may be advantageous to addressing this problem. Mefloquine, a drug traditionally used to treat malaria, has emerged as a promising antibiotic adjuvant, due to its ability to enhance the effectiveness of conventional antibiotics against resistant bacterial strains. In this paper, we first outline the enhancement properties of mefloquine and its mechanisms of action as an adjuvant antibiotic against multidrug-resistant bacteria.

Background: There is a lack of effective and innovative treatment for patients with prosthesis exposure and deep joint infection following total knee arthroplasty. This study explores the application of the medial head of the gastrocnemius myocutaneous flap transfer in these conditions, offering new therapeutic strategies for clinical practice.

Methods: Clinical data of 68 patients with prosthesis exposure and deep joint infection following total knee arthroplasty were included and retrospectively analyzed.

Conservative tangential excision instead of escharotomy in the treatment of compartment syndrome.

Purpose: One of the primary causes of heat-induced compartment syndrome is the loss of elasticity of the body surface eschar itself, we have recently replaced escharotomy with conservative tangential excision in the treatment of compartment syndrome caused by heat and achieved good results.

Methods: Since 2019, our burn center has applied conservative tangential excision and heterogeneous dermal coverage technology for decompression treatment of 16 patients with thermal-induced compartment syndrome, involving 19 parts of the limbs and 5 parts of the chest and abdomen. All cases were treated with decompression under general anesthesia within 12-48 h after burn.

Objective: The present study aims to investigate the effect and mechanism of heavy moxibustion (100 moxa-cone) at Sanyin point (the common point of Yin and kidney) on the function of neurogenic bladder (NB) dysfunction in rats with spinal cord injury (SCI).

Methods: Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups (n = 6): control, NB, NB + Moxibustion, and NB + Moxibustion + YS-49 (PI3 K agonist). The rats in control groups accepted a cut open of the skin, fascia, and muscle.

This study evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of the gastrointestinal health anti-diarrheal mixture (GHAM) on diarrhea induced by spleen deficiency, focusing on its modulation of gut microbiota. Using specific pathogen-free Wistar rats, a spleen deficiency model was created through senna leaf gavage. Rats were divided into control, model, positive control, and GHAM treatment groups.
