Tumor hypoxia significantly impacts the efficacy of radiotherapy. Recent developments in the technique of dose painting by numbers (DPBN) promise to improve the tumor control probability (TCP) in conventional radiotherapy for hypoxic cancer. The study initially combined the DPBN method with hypoxia-guided dose distribution optimization to overcome hypoxia for lung cancers and evaluated the effectiveness and appropriateness for clinical use of the DPBN plans.

GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid) is a non-protein amino acid that occurs naturally in the human brain, animals, plants and microorganisms. It is primarily produced by the irreversible action of glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) on the α-decarboxylation of L-glutamic acid. As a major neurotransmitter in the brain, GABA plays a crucial role in behavior, cognition, and the body's stress response.

Background: Perioperative neurocognitive disorders (PND) are common perioperative complications associated with various poor outcomes. Regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rSO2) monitoring is a non-invasive technique based on near-infrared spectroscopy detection. Due to the considerable controversy among currently published studies on the application of intraoperative rSO2 monitoring in adult patients undergoing elective non-cardiac surgery, this study aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to provide more comprehensive and robust evidence to support clinical decision-making.

Background: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) are a heterogeneousgroup of rare cancers. The effects of micronutrients on GEP-NETs have been explored in observational studies, but with inconsistent results. We conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (TSMR) study to investigate whether micronutrients influence the risk of GEP-NETs.

Antimicrobial resistance is among the greatest threats to public health globally, and drug repurposing strategies may be advantageous to addressing this problem. Mefloquine, a drug traditionally used to treat malaria, has emerged as a promising antibiotic adjuvant, due to its ability to enhance the effectiveness of conventional antibiotics against resistant bacterial strains. In this paper, we first outline the enhancement properties of mefloquine and its mechanisms of action as an adjuvant antibiotic against multidrug-resistant bacteria.

Background: There is a lack of effective and innovative treatment for patients with prosthesis exposure and deep joint infection following total knee arthroplasty. This study explores the application of the medial head of the gastrocnemius myocutaneous flap transfer in these conditions, offering new therapeutic strategies for clinical practice.
Methods: Clinical data of 68 patients with prosthesis exposure and deep joint infection following total knee arthroplasty were included and retrospectively analyzed.
Purpose: One of the primary causes of heat-induced compartment syndrome is the loss of elasticity of the body surface eschar itself, we have recently replaced escharotomy with conservative tangential excision in the treatment of compartment syndrome caused by heat and achieved good results.
Methods: Since 2019, our burn center has applied conservative tangential excision and heterogeneous dermal coverage technology for decompression treatment of 16 patients with thermal-induced compartment syndrome, involving 19 parts of the limbs and 5 parts of the chest and abdomen. All cases were treated with decompression under general anesthesia within 12-48 h after burn.
