Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of comprehensive treatment focusing on transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) for postoperative liver metastasis in patients with gastric cancer and analyze the factors influencing prognosis.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 116 patients who developed liver metastasis after gastric cancer surgery and were admitted to Gansu Provincial Cancer Hospital between January 2018 and February 2020. The observation group, consisting of 62 patients, received TACE with fluorouracil (FU) + irinotecan (CPT-11) + oxaliplatin (OXA) and moderate lipiodol embolization.

Background: N6-methyladenosine (mA)-mediated epitranscriptomic pathway has been shown to contribute to chemoresistance and radioresistance. Our previous work confirmed the defense of lycorine against tamoxifen resistance of breast cancer (BC) through targeting HOXD antisense growth-associated long non-coding RNA (HAGLR). Whereas, the precise regulation among them remains to be elucidated.

Cell pyroptosis is a form of programmed cell death, with Gasdermin-D (GSDMD) acting as its key executor. While activating pyroptosis represents a promising therapeutic strategy for cancer, the regulatory mechanisms governing GSDMD expression during cell death remain poorly understood. In this study, we identified METTL3 as a negative regulator of GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis, with high expression in breast cancer (BC) cells.

Objective: Experimental animal models have been used for decades to study the development and progression of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, there is a lack of methods for constructing animal models of COPD for optimal modelling. This systematic literature review (SLR) aimed to assess the various methods used to establish COPD animal models, highlight their advantages and limitations, and explore more optimized approaches for establishing such models.

: C-reactive protein (CRP) functions as a nonspecific marker in various inflammatory disorders, particularly in evaluating the efficacy of pharmacological treatments in patients with ulcerative colitis. The existing body of evidence does not offer adequate support for the direct implication of CRP in modulating the advancement of ulcerative colitis. : Our study employed a rigorous mouse model.

Purpose: This multicenter, randomized, phase III clinical trial (Northern Radiation Oncology Group of China-002) focused on patients with oligo-organ metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have epidermal growth factor receptor () mutations. We aimed to investigate whether first-line concurrent thoracic radiotherapy (TRT) and EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), compared with TKIs alone, could achieve better survival.
Materials And Methods: The patients in the TKI plus TRT group received 60 Gy to primary lung tumor and positive regional lymph nodes.

Background: Currently, the need for new therapeutic strategies involving programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibodies in the second-line setting of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is urgent. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of anlotinib plus penpulimab as a second-line treatment for patients with SCLC who progressed after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy.
Methods: This study included the patients from Cohort 4 of a single-arm, open-label, multicenter, phase II clinical trial.

Background: Patients with malignant tumors often develop bone metastases. SPECT bone scintigraphy is an effective tool for surveying bone metastases due to its high sensitivity, low-cost equipment, and radiopharmaceutical. However, the low spatial resolution of SPECT scans significantly hinders manual analysis by nuclear medicine physicians.

Background: This multi-center cohort study aimed to investigate whether sex and prediagnosis lifestyle affect the prognosis of gastric cancer.
Methods: Patients with gastric cancer were from four gastric cancer cohorts of the National Cancer Center of China, The First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Lanzhou University Second Hospital, and Gansu Provincial Cancer Hospital. Prediagnosis lifestyle factors in our study included body mass index (BMI) at diagnosis, usual BMI, weight loss, the history of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection, and the status of smoking and drinking.

Background: Gastric cancer is a major health problem worldwide, with a high incidence among older adults. Given the aging overall population, it was crucial to understand the current burden and prospective trend of older gastric cancer. This study aimed to analyze the temporal trends of the incidence, mortality, and survival of older gastric cancer in the highest gastric cancer risk area in China from 2010 to 2019, and to predict the future burden of older gastric cancer up to 2024.

Background: Deep learning is the primary method for conducting automated analysis of SPECT bone scintigrams. The lack of available large-scale data significantly hinders the development of well-performing deep learning models, as the performance of a deep learning model is positively correlated with the size of the dataset used. Therefore, there is an urgent demand for an automated data generation method to enlarge the dataset of SPECT bone scintigrams.

Purpose: The majority of new diagnoses of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) still pertain to unresectable cases. Currently, the combination therapy of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitors has become the mainstream treatment. According to multiple clinical guidelines, it is strongly advised to consider local therapy as the primary treatment choice for uHCC.

In recent years, the application of minimal residual disease (MRD) in solid tumors has gained widespread attention. MRD typically refers to the presence of residual cancer cells that remain undetectable by imaging after curative treatments, such as surgical resection. The presence of MRD post-surgery is significantly associated with an increased risk of tumor recurrence.

C-reactive protein (CRP) is a plasma protein that is evolutionarily conserved, found in both vertebrates and many invertebrates. It is a member of the pentraxin superfamily, characterized by its pentameric structure and calcium-dependent binding to ligands like phosphocholine (PC). In humans and various other species, the plasma concentration of this protein is markedly elevated during inflammatory conditions, establishing it as a prototypical acute phase protein that plays a role in innate immune responses.

Matricellular proteins (MCPs), as a family of non-structural proteins, play a crucial role in regulating various ECM functions. They exert their biological effects by interacting with matrix proteins, cell surface receptors, cytokines, and proteases.

To evaluate the utility of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) histogram parameters in predicting O(6)-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase promoter (pMGMT) methylation status in IDH-wildtype glioblastoma (GBM). From November 2021 to July 2023, forty-six IDH-wildtype GBM patients with known pMGMT methylation status (25 unmethylated and 21 methylated) were enrolled in this retrospective study. Conventional MRI signs (including location, across the midline, margin, necrosis/cystic changes, hemorrhage, and enhancement pattern) were assessed and recorded.
