Ultrasound Features of Adhesive Capsulitis.

Introduction: Adhesive capsulitis (AC), which is characterised by shoulder pain and a limited range of motion (ROM), is usually diagnosed on the basis of clinical suspicion, with imaging only being used to exclude other causes of similar symptoms. The aim of this study was to identify and describe the typical ultrasound (US) features of AC in a group of patients with shoulder pain and stiffness.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of 1486 patients with AC in which two experienced US specialists examined the axillary pouch (AP), the coracohumeral ligament (CHL), the superior glenohumeral ligament (SGHL), and the long head of the biceps tendon (LHBT), and dynamically visualised the infraspinatus tendon during passive external rotation (PER) during a US evaluation of shoulder ROM.

Background: Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world involving about 200 million athletes. Injury management in soccer is crucial for performance and for the costs related to rehabilitation and absence from official matches. While there is quite an exhaustive literature regarding injuries in professional soccer, for amateur soccer the incidence of injuries remains unknown.

Passive stretching decreases muscle efficiency in balance tasks.

The current study aimed to verify whether or not passive static stretching affects balance control capacity. Thirty-eight participants (19 women and 19 men) underwent a passive static stretching session, involving the knee extensor/flexor and dorsi/plantarflexor muscles, and a control session (no stretching, CTRL). Before (PRE), immediately after (POST), after 15 (POST15) and 30 min (POST30) from stretching (or rest in CTRL), balance control was evaluated under static and dynamic conditions, with open/closed eyes, and with/without somatosensory perturbation (foam under the feet).

European knowledge alliance for innovative measures in prevention of work-related musculoskeletal pain disorders (Prevent4Work Project): protocol for an international mixed-methods longitudinal study.

Introduction: Work-related musculoskeletal (MSK) pain is a highly prevalent condition and one of the main contributors to disability and loss of work capacity. Current approaches to the management and prevention of work-related MSK pain do not consistently integrate current evidence-based knowledge and seem to be outdated. The Prevent4Work (P4W) Project aims to collect and spread evidence-based information to improve the management and prevention of work-related MSK pain.

When the tumor is located in anatomically complex segments, 3D-Printed Titanium Custom-Made Prostheses (3DPTCMP) are possible reconstructive solutions. The aim of the present paper is to analyze indications, results and complications of a series of 14 patients who underwent pelvis reconstruction with 3DPTCMP after tumor removal from January 2015 to December 2019.

sCD14 Level in Saliva of Children and Adolescents with and without Dental Caries, a Hurdle Model.

Objective: Soluble CD14 (sCD14) plays an important role in the innate immune response of the oral cavity. The investigation of this biomarker for detection of carious lesions is an even more actual procedure due to its non-invasiveness and the ease of withdrawal. The purpose of the present observational case-control study was to evaluate whether the quantification of sCD14 in children and adolescent's saliva can discriminate healthy subjects from those suffering from tooth decay.

Methods: We reviewed all patients affected by primary cervical spine bone tumors treated with en bloc surgeries from 1996 to 2016 and identified 30 eligible cases.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and Cochrane have been collaborating for a long time. As a part of "Rehabilitation 2030: a call for action", WHO's Department of Noncommunicable Diseases is developing a Package of Rehabilitation Interventions (PRI) which provides a set of prioritized evidence-based interventions, along with resource requirements for their delivery. Cochrane Rehabilitation were asked to contribute to the methodological development of the PRI, with particular involvement in the initial phases of the evidence selection and extraction.

Frequency of phototherapy for treating psoriasis: a systematic review.

Evidence Acquisition: We used the following terms, namely "photochemotherapy," "phototherapy," "psoriasis," "UVB," "UVA" and "ultraviolet therapy," to search the Cochrane Controlled Register of Trials, MEDLINE and Embase databases on August 1, 2019.

Masks use and facial dermatitis during COVID-19 outbreak: is there a difference between CE and non-CE approved masks? Multi-center, real-life data from a large Italian cohort.

Background: During the recent COVID-19 outbreak, masks became mandatory and shortages frequent, therefore the prevalence of non-CE (European Conformity Mark) approved masks increased in the general population. We aimed to quantify the prevalence of mask-related cutaneous side effects and the differences between CE and non-CE approved masks.

Methods: In this multicenter prospective observational study conducted from March 20, 2020 to May 12, 2020(during and after quarantine), patients attending emergency departments for a dermatological consult were clinically assessed and their masks were inspected to detect CE marks and UNI (Italian National Unification Entity) norms.

The present study aimed to perform a systematic critical appraisal of the methodological quality of systematic reviews (SRs) on the effect of autologous platelet concentrates (APCs) in the treatment of periodontal intraosseous defects and to provide a synthesis of the main clinical findings available. An electronic and hand search was performed up to February 2020; 14 systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials (RCTs), of which 11 were meta-analyses, were included. Only one SR fully satisfied all 11 items of the AMSTAR ("A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews") checklist for methodological quality evaluation, 3 SRs were classified of high quality, 8 of medium quality, and 2 of low quality.
