Glenoid bone loss and capsular deficiency represent critical points of arthroscopic Bankart repair failures. The purpose of this Technical Note is to present an all-arthroscopic bone block procedure associated with arthroscopic subscapularis augmentation for treating glenohumeral instability with glenoid bone loss and anterior capsulolabral deficiency. Two glenoid tunnels are set up from the posterior to the anterior side using a dedicated bone block guide, and 4 buttons are used to fix the graft to the glenoid.

Purpose: Different surgical approaches for zygomatic implantology using new designed implants are reported.
Material And Methods: The surgical technique is described and two cases reported. The zygomatic fixture has a complete extrasinus path in order to preserve the sinus membrane and to avoid any post-surgical sinus sequelae.

Background: Adverse reactions to hair dyes are frequent and usually caused by sensitization to paraphenylenediamine (PPD). The aim of the study was to evaluate the tolerability of a PPD-free permanent hair dye (Shine On, BioNike, Milan, Italy) containing paratoluenediamine (PTD) in a group of subjects sensitized to PPD.
Methods: The trial, which carried out at four dermatology centers, included subjects sensitized to PPD that turned out negative to patch testing to PTD.

Foods are natural sources of substances that may exert crucial effects on the nervous system in humans. Some of these substances are the neurotransmitters (NTs) acetylcholine (ACh), the modified amino acids glutamate and γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), and the biogenic amines dopamine, serotonin (5-HT), and histamine. In neuropsychiatry, progressive integration of dietary approaches in clinical routine made it necessary to discern the more about some of these dietary NTs.

Background: Glenoid bone loss and capsular deficiency represent critical points of arthroscopic Bankart repair failures. The purpose of this study was to evaluate an all-arthroscopic bone block procedure associated with arthroscopic subscapularis augmentation (ASA) for treating gleno-humeral instability with glenoid bone loss (GBL) and anterior capsulo-labral deficiency. Our hypothesis was that these two procedures could be combined arthroscopically.

Background: The aim of this study was to assess clinical and radiological outcomes in patients who underwent distal Akin osteotomy for hallux valgus interphalangeus (HVI).
Methods: A series of 15 consecutive patients (17 feet) was retrospectively reviewed. All the patients were preoperatively and post-operatively evaluated with a physical and radiographic assessment (HVI angle).

Importance: Collective evidence has strongly suggested that deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a promising therapy for Tourette syndrome.
Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of DBS in a multinational cohort of patients with Tourette syndrome.
Design, Setting, And Participants: The prospective International Deep Brain Stimulation Database and Registry included 185 patients with medically refractory Tourette syndrome who underwent DBS implantation from January 1, 2012, to December 31, 2016, at 31 institutions in 10 countries worldwide.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) has emerged as a novel therapy for the treatment of several movement and neuropsychiatric disorders, and may also be suitable for the treatment of Tourette syndrome (TS). The main DBS targets used to date in patients with TS are located within the basal ganglia-thalamo-cortical circuit involved in the pathophysiology of this syndrome. They include the ventralis oralis/centromedian-parafascicular (Vo/CM-Pf) nucleus of the thalamus and the nucleus accumbens.

Purpose: Implant dentistry has become one of the most successful dentistry techniques for replacing missing teeth. The success rate of implant dentistry is above 80%. However, peri-implantitis is a later complication of implant dentistry that if untreated, can lead to implant loss.

Background: Skin erosion/infections due to deep brain stimulation hardware are highly worrisome complications. They can lead to the removal of the entire deep brain stimulation device, and consequently hold the whole treatment in otherwise pharmacologically refractory patients. Several techniques have been used such as C-shape skin incision and dual floor burr hole or single passage of connecting cables to reduce the incidence of skin complications.

The guideline recommendations, albeit founded on thorough reviews of clinically relevant literature data, are often not immediately adaptable to everyday life. Considering the marked heterogeneity of superficial mycoses, each of them requires specific management in a real life context; in all cases diagnostic confirmation is required with microscopic and culture examination. In tinea capitis oral therapy is necessary (minimum six weeks) and should be continued until clinical and, above all, mycological healing.

Ectodermal dysplasias are a group of genetic disorders defined by ectodermal derivative impairment (EDI). To test the impact of the Wnt/beta-catenin pathway in the genetic screening of EDI, we performed a molecular gene study of WNT10A in 60 subjects from a population of 133 young Italian patients referred for the impairment of at least one major ectodermal-derived structure and who had a previous negative molecular screen for ectodysplasin signaling pathway genes ED1, EDAR, and EDARADD. Fourteen WNT10A mutations were identified in 33 subjects (24.

Purpose Of Review: The humanized anti-IgE antibody omalizumab has been available for patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) in Italy since 2015. This review summarizes the unresolved issues and unmet therapeutic needs associated with omalizumab and discusses practical recommendations for its use in the management of CSU.
Recent Findings: Although modern second-generation H1-antihistamines are the standard of care for patients with CSU, adjunctive treatments (including omalizumab) may be required for effective control of symptoms in many patients.

(1) Background: Literature suggests that high levels of dopamine are associated with creative thoughts. Tourette Syndrome (TS) patients have high dopamine levels, while Parkinson's Disease (PD) subjects have low dopamine levels. Consequently, TS individuals are supposed to have a major and PD patients less creative output.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Tic Disorder (TD) are highly disabling and often comorbid conditions. Of note, the DSM-5 acknowledged a new 'tic-related' specifier for OCD, which might be referred to as Obsessive-Compulsive Tic Disorder (OCTD), raising new interest toward a better clinical characterisation of affected patients. Available literature indicates that early onset, male gender, sensory phenomena and obsessions of symmetry, aggressiveness, hoarding, exactness and sounds as well as comorbidity with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may be of more frequent observation in patients with OCTD.

Background: Requests for lip augmentation are increasing because of expanding media exposure and consumer needs. Temporary effects can be obtained by several techniques, but a recent procedure consisting of lip prosthesis implantation, offering a permanent result, is emerging. Accordingly, the implantation of solid lip prosthesis represents an innovation in the field of esthetic medicine and surgery.
