Background: Active learning strategies (ALSs) in medical education are valued for their effectiveness but face adoption challenges among educators, underscoring the need for a deeper understanding of their implementation and impact.

Aim: The aim of the study was to investigate the perceptions of medical educators regarding the effectiveness and challenges of ALS through mentor-learner (ML) web-based discussions.

Settings And Design: The retrospective cross-sectional study analyzed data from 32 medical educators enrolled in the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education Research course at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana.

Swept-source optical coherence tomography assessment of Schlemm's canal after phacoemulsification with goniosynechialysis in Chinese patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma.

Background: Primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) is a leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. However, the features of the morphology of Schlemm's canal (SC) in PACG eyes after phacoemulsification with goniosynechialysis (phaco-GSL) surgery are still unknown. This study aimed to evaluate changes in the SC in Chinese patients with PACG after phaco-GSL using swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT).

Thrombotic events are common in Fabry patients, with strokes and heart attacks being significant contributors to a shortened lifespan in patients of both genders. Previously, we developed an ⍺-Gal A-knockout (KO) murine model that recapitulates most Fabry symptomologies and demonstrated that platelets from KO males become sensitized to agonist-mediated activation.

Scrub typhus is still an underdiagnosed disease despite an increase in incidence as the clinical presentation is often different, leading to a low index of suspicion among doctors. It can have varied clinical presentations ranging from mild asymptomatic disease to fatal multi-organ dysfunction.

Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is characterized by the absence of expression of the estrogen receptor and the progesterone receptor by immunohistochemistry and human epidermal growth factor receptor overexpression absence either by immunohistochemistry or absence of amplification by fluorescence in-situ hybridization. TNBCs tend to have rapid growth when compared to other subtypes of breast cancer. TNBC is associated with higher histologic grade and more advanced disease at presentation.

Nowadays anti-VEGF and retinal photocoagulation are mainstream treatments for ROP, but they develop a variety of complications. Hydrogen (H) is widely considered as a useful neuroprotective and antioxidative therapeutic method for hypoxic-ischemic disease without toxic effects.
