Isolated endophyte fungi from Mappia foetida have been explored as a potential source for the mass production of anticancer drug lead compounds in the current study. Since medical plants are not feasible economically for mass production of bioactive pharmaceutical important molecules using plant tissue culture due to factors like media design and fungal contamination, endophyte fungal mass culture have been an alternative for the relatively easy and inexpensive production. Two endophytic fungi isolated, Alternaria alternata and Fusarium species were mass cultured and their prepared alcoholic extract subjected to standard procedures to identify the phytochemical screening by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), UV visible spectrophotometry (UV-VIS), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

Background: Dengue fever is the most prevalent mosquito-borne viral disease in the world, with 390 million dengue infections occurring every year. There is an unmet medical need to develop a safe, effective and affordable dengue vaccine against all four Dengue serotype viruses-DENV1, DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-4. Panacea Biotec Ltd (PBL) has developed a cell culture-derived, live-attenuated, lyophilized Tetravalent Dengue Vaccine (TDV).

April 2022

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, 800 N. State College Blvd., California State University, Fullerton, CA 92831, United States of America. Electronic address:

Recently, nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) particles have been efficiently used in the remediation of many heavy metals, yet potential agglomeration and loss of nZVI remain a critical area of research. In this study, we used red mud as a stable supporting medium to develop red mud modified nZVI to form (RM-nZVI) composite. We assessed its sorptive/reductive removal of mercury (Hg) from aqueous solutions.

The recent developments in the IT world have brought several changes in the medical industry. This research work focuses on few mHealth applications that work on the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by the patients on their own. Looking into the present doctor-to-patient ratio in our country (1:1700 as per a Times of India report in 2021), it is very essential to develop self-management mHealth applications.

Fuzzy Guided Autonomous Nursing Robot through Wireless Beacon Network.

Multimed Tools Appl

July 2021

Department of Digital Systems, Faculty of Technology, University of Thessaly, Geopolis, Larissa, Greece.

Robotics is one of the most emerging technologies today, and are used in a variety of applications, ranging from complex rocket technology to monitoring of crops in agriculture. Robots can be exceptionally useful in a smart hospital environment provided that they are equipped with improved vision capabilities for detection and avoidance of obstacles present in their path, thus allowing robots to perform their tasks without any disturbance. In the particular case of Autonomous Nursing Robots, major essential issues are effective robot path planning for the delivery of medicines to patients, measuring the patient body parameters through sensors, interacting with and informing the patient, by means of voice-based modules, about the doctors visiting schedule, his/her body parameter details, etc.

A novel Lanthanum phosphate polyaniline (LaPO-PANI) nanocomposite was synthesized by the simple sol-gel technique. The nanocomposite prepared at 1:1 ratio provided the highest ion exchange capacity and selective adsorption of Cr(VI). The phase composition and particle morphology of the as-prepared material was evaluated by XRD, FESEM and TEM analyses.

Multiferroic composites are promising candidates for magnetic field sensors, next-generation low power memory and spintronic devices, as they exhibit much higher magnetoelectric (ME) coupling and coupled ordering parameters compared to the single-phase multiferroics. Hence, the 3-0 type particulate multiferroic composites having general formula (1 - Φ)[PbFeNbO]-Φ[CoZnFeMnO] (Φ = 0.0, 0.
