Study Objectives: Both the (ICSD) and the sleep-wake disorders section of the (DSM) emphasize the importance of clinical judgment in distinguishing the normal from the pathological in sleep medicine. The fourth edition of the DSM (DSM-IV, 1994) introduced the clinical significance criterion (CSC) to standardize this judgment and enhance diagnostic reliability.
Methods: This review conducts a theoretical and historical content analysis of CSC presence, frequency, and formulation in the diagnostic criteria of sleep disorders.

Background And Objective: This study aimed to explore the impact of positive or negative feedback on the performance of trainees in pediatric urology during simulation exercises in pediatric laparoscopy.
Methods: Twenty-five students enrolled in a national Pediatric Urology Laparoscopy Simulation participated in the study. They performed the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) skills, specifically peg-transfer and intracorporeal knot-tying, in a randomized study design while receiving positive or negative feedback from an attending pediatric urologist.

Bipolar disorder is a leading contributor to the global burden of disease. Despite high heritability (60-80%), the majority of the underlying genetic determinants remain unknown. We analysed data from participants of European, East Asian, African American and Latino ancestries (n = 158,036 cases with bipolar disorder, 2.

Injury of the internal carotid artery (ICA), anterior cerebral artery (ACA), and middle cerebral artery (MCA) are rare but devastating complications during microsurgery of the anterior and middle cranial skull base. We systematically reviewed the current knowledge on ICA, ACA, and MCA injury during skull base microsurgery and performed a multicentric data collection to refine their management. A systematic review of ICA, ACA, and MCA injuries during direct microsurgical approaches to the anterior and middle cranial skull base was performed, using PRISMA-IPD guidelines and using a multicentric case collection.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to develop a PK interaction model of intravenous (IV) and oral clindamycin when combined with rifampicin, and to determine whether appropriate clindamycin concentrations could be achieved for different doses and administration routes (oral, intermittent and continuous infusion) of clindamycin.
Methods: Five hundred and eighteen plasma samples were prospectively obtained from 124 patients treated for bone and joint infections. Population PK analysis was performed using Monolix software.

Background: After cardiac arrest (CA), the European recommendations suggest to use a neuron-specific enolase (NSE) level > 60 µg/L at 48-72 h to predict poor outcome. However, the prognostic performance of NSE can vary depending on electroencephalogram (EEG). The objective was to determine whether the NSE threshold which predicts poor outcome varies according to EEG patterns and the effect of electrographic seizures on NSE level.

Background: Depressive symptoms remaining after antidepressant treatment increase the risk of relapse and recurrence. We aimed to analyze the distribution and main drivers of remaining symptoms in patients with a major depressive episode.
Methods: Two independent samples of 8,229 and 5,926 patients from two large naturalistic studies were retrospectively analyzed.

Introduction: Psychiatric emergency departments (EDs) in France have been under pressure from several factors, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic led to an increase in psychiatric disorders, particularly anxiety and depression, with younger people and women being most affected. The aim of this study was to provide a comprehensive description of the trends in the number of visits to the largest psychiatric emergency department in France, with a particular focus on the period preceding and following the advent of COVID-19 pandemic.

Objective: Most data published on adolescents living with HIV (ALH) have been collected before the large diffusion of second-generation integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTI) among the pediatric population. We analyzed the nationwide ANRS-MIE CO10 Pediatric cohort to assess the changes over time in health and social outcomes of French ALH.
Design: The cohort enrolled children born in France since 1985 and, from 2005, children diagnosed with HIV at ≤13 years, including those born abroad if antiretroviral-naive at first medical care in France.

Introduction: Despite the emergence of drugs to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), improving abdominal pain can still be challenging. αδ ligands, such as gabapentin and pregabalin, are sometimes used off-label to tackle this problem. However, evidence for efficacy is limited, and no large-scale studies have been published.

In the last decades, research from cognitive science, clinical psychology, psychiatry, and social neuroscience has provided mounting evidence that several social cognitive abilities are impaired in people with schizophrenia and contribute to functional difficulties and poor clinical outcomes. Social dysfunction is a hallmark of the illness, and yet, social cognition is seldom assessed in clinical practice or targeted for treatment. In this article, 17 international experts, from three different continents and six countries with expertise in social cognition and social neuroscience in schizophrenia, convened several meetings to provide clinicians with a summary of the most recent international research on social cognition evaluation and treatment in schizophrenia, and to lay out primary recommendations and procedures that can be integrated into their practice.

Introduction: The megalencephaly capillary malformation polymicrogyria (MCAP syndrome) results from mosaic gain-of-function variants. The main clinical features are macrocephaly, somatic overgrowth, neurodevelopmental delay and brain anomalies. Alpelisib (Vijoice) is a recently FDA-approved PI3Kα-specific inhibitor for patients with PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum (PROS).

Studies on the mechanisms and regulation of functional assemblies of SNARE proteins mediating membrane fusion essentially make use of recombinant proteins and artificial phospholipid bilayers. We have developed an easy-to-use in vivo system reconstituting membrane fusion in living bacteria. It relies on the formation of caveolin-dependent intracytoplasmic cisternae followed by the controlled synthesis of members of the synaptic SNARE machinery.

Schizophrenia is a frequent and disabling disease. The persistence of the disorder despite its harmful consequences represents an evolutionary paradox. Based on recent discoveries in genetics, scientists have formulated the "price-to-pay" hypothesis: schizophrenia would be intimately related to human evolution, particularly to brain development and human-specific higher cognitive functions.

Background: The use of cerebrospinal (CSF) biomarkers in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been gaining interest in clinical practice. Although their usefulness has been demonstrated, their potential value in older patients remains debated.
Objectives: To assess whether knowledge of the results of CSF AD biomarkers was associated with the same gain in diagnostic confidence in older adults > 80 than in younger patients.

Invasive candidiasis, including intra-abdominal candidiasis (IAC), is a common complication after liver transplantation. Antifungal drugs such as echinocandins and fluconazole (FCZ) are frequently used to prevent or treat such fungal infections. The diffusion of these antifungals within abdominal body sites has been rarely reported, in particular, in liver transplant recipients.

Background: After suffering for an average of 7 years before diagnosis, endometriosis patients are usually left with more questions than answers about managing their symptoms in the absence of a cure. To help women with endometriosis after their diagnosis, we developed an online support program combining user research, evidence-based medicine, and clinical expertise. Structured around CBT and the quality-of-life metrics from the EHP score, the program is designed to guide participants over a 3-month and is available in France.

4P medicine (personalized, preventive, predictive, and participatory) is experiencing a remarkable rise, and pharmacogenetics is an essential part of it. However, several obstacles are hindering its deployment. This round table brought together a group of experts to take stock of the situation, reflecting on ways to facilitate the prescription of these tests and the dissemination of the results on a national scale.
