Background Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a multifaceted complex endocrine disorder showing an alarming rise in women worldwide. Insulin resistance is the chief driving force in the pathogenesis of PCOS. Myo-inositol is an upcoming insulin-sensitizing agent, which is a second messenger responsible for insulin-mediated intracellular glucose transport.

Efficacy of 15% lysine cream in treating diabetic foot ulcers: a randomized interventional study.

Background And Objective: Lysine is an essential amino acid involved in several biochemical pathways. It has been shown to enhance blood supply and target growth factors, leading to improved wound healing. The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of a 15% lysine cream in treating diabetic foot ulcers, as measured by the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool (BWAT).

Six-minute walk distance (6MWD) at admission can help us to guide the requirement of oxygen during hospital stay that can be used to determine which patient can be managed at home.

Hereditary persistence of fetal hemoglobin (HPFH) is a benign condition in which significant fetal hemoglobin production continues well into adulthood, disregarding the normal shutoff point after which only adult-type hemoglobin should be produced. The percentage of incorrect expression might be as low as 10%-15% or as high as 100% of the total hemoglobin, usually higher in homozygotes than in heterozygotes. The present case is a typical example of homozygous HPFH.

Fungal biomolecules assisted biosynthesis of Au-Ag alloy nanoparticles and evaluation of their catalytic property.

The catalytic reduction of methylene blue was studied using biosynthesised gold-silver (Au-Ag) alloy nanoparticles (NPs). The fungal biomass of Trichoderma harzianum was used as a reducing and stabilising agent in the synthesis of Au-Ag alloy NPs. The synthesised NPs were well characterised by UV-vis spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

Surgical management of peripheral variant of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor: A rare case report with review.

Ventilator-associated pneumonia in a tertiary care intensive care unit: Analysis of incidence, risk factors and mortality.

Background: Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is the most common nosocomial infection diagnosed in the intensive care unit (ICU) and in spite of advances in diagnostic techniques and management it remains a common cause of hospital morbidity and mortality.

Objective: The primary objective of the following study is to determine the incidence, various risk factors and attributable mortality associated with VAP and secondary objective is to identify the various bacterial pathogens causing VAP in the ICU.
