Italian S3-Guideline on the treatment of Atopic Eczema - Part 2: non-systemic treatments and treatment recommendations for special AE patient populations, adapted from EuroGuiDerm by the Italian Society of Dermatology and STD (SIDEMAST), the Italian Association of Hospital Dermatologists (ADOI) and the Italian Society of Allergological and Occupational Dermatology (SIDAPA).

SIDeMaST (Società Italiana di Dermatologia Medica, Chirurgica, Estetica e delle Malattie Sessualmente Trasmesse) contributed to the development of the present guideline on the systemic treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis. With the permission of EuroGuiDerm, SIDeMaST adapted the guideline to the Italian healthcare context to supply a reliable and affordable tool to Italian physicians who take care of patients affected by atopic dermatitis. The evidence- and consensus-based guideline on atopic eczema was developed in accordance with the EuroGuiDerm Guideline and Consensus Statement Development Manual.

Case Report of Indocyanine Green Endoscopy for Intrasellar Pituitary Adenoma Resection.

Indocyanine green (ICG) angiography has become an established technology in many surgical fields, as well as in neurosurgery with the first application of microscope-integrated indocyanine angiography, which dates to 2003. More recently we observed the integration of ICG into endoscopic visualization (e-ICG), which resulted in different applications during the endoscopic endonasal approach ranging from evaluation of intranasal flap perfusion to differentiation of pituitary neuroendocrine tumors from normal gland or even as a predictive factor of postoperative visual function after expanded approaches. A 49-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital after a 1-year history of amenorrhea and radiologic finding of an intrasellar lesion.

Gender differences in adult atopic dermatitis and clinical implication: Results from a nationwide multicentre study.

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common inflammatory skin disease that affects both children and adults. However, limited research has been conducted on gender differences in AD.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess gender differences in adult AD patients, focusing on demographic and clinical features, comorbidities and treatment approaches.

Efficacy, tolerability and patient's satisfaction for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis with apremilast in the real-life setting of Campania region, Italy.

Background: Little information is available from real-life studies evaluating the efficacy of apremilast in moderate-to-severe psoriasis.

Methods: In this real-life study, we retrospectively examined a database of 231 patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis treated with apremilast (30 mg twice/day) and followed up for 52 weeks. Disease severity and treatment response were assessed by the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) at baseline and after 16, 24, and 52 weeks.

A New Perspective on the Cavernous Sinus as Seen through Multiple Surgical Corridors: Anatomical Study Comparing the Transorbital, Endonasal, and Transcranial Routes and the Relative Coterminous Spatial Regions.

: The cavernous sinus (CS) is a highly vulnerable anatomical space, mainly due to the neurovascular structures that it contains; therefore, a detailed knowledge of its anatomy is mandatory for surgical unlocking. In this study, we compared the anatomy of this region from different endoscopic and microsurgical operative corridors, further focusing on the corresponding anatomic landmarks encountered along these routes. Furthermore, we tried to define the safe entry zones to this venous space from these three different operative corridors, and to provide indications regarding the optimal approach according to the lesion's location.

Brolucizumab Intravitreal Injections for Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration: Real-Life Study on a Cohort of Italian Patients.

To report the real-life Brolucizumab therapeutical outcomes of treatment-naïve and non-treatment-naïve eyes with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and to analyze the incidence of therapy-related adverse events. A total of 56 eyes of 54 patients diagnosed with nAMD were retrospectively evaluated over a 3-month follow-up. Naïve eyes received a 3-month loading phase, whereas non-naïve eyes were treated with one intravitreal injection + ProReNata scheme.

Real-World Experience of Methotrexate in the Treatment of Skin Diseases: an Italian Delphi Consensus.

Background: After decades of use, methotrexate displays an established safety and efficacy profile in both in-hospital and outpatient settings. Despite its widespread use, there is surprisingly little clinical evidence to guide daily practice with methotrexate in dermatology.

Objectives: To provide guidance for clinicians in daily practice for areas in which there is limited guidance.

Functional and clinical outcomes after superior eyelid transorbital endoscopic approach for spheno-orbital meningiomas: illustrative case and literature review.

The pattern of growth of spheno-orbital meningiomas accounts for the main presenting symptoms, such as proptosis, eye motility deficit, visual impairment, diplopia. As these are benign tumors, the postoperative patient's quality of life is an important factor to consider during the preoperative planning. A detailed literature review of superior eyelid transorbital endoscopic approach for spheno-orbital meningiomas, including our own case, was made.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common chronic-relapsing inflammatory skin disease, burdened by various comorbidities. AD most commonly occurs in children but may persist or present in adulthood becoming a lifelong condition. Therefore, AD requires an effective long-term treatment improving disease signs and symptoms but also of patients' quality of life (QoL).

Integrated care pathways and the hub-and-spoke model for the management of non-melanoma skin cancer: A proposal of the Italian Association of Hospital Dermatologists (ADOI).

The term (NMSC) refers to skin cancer different from melanoma, and it is usually restricted to basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and their pre-cancerous lesions, , actinic keratosis. These conditions represent the most frequent tumors in Caucasians and are characterized by an increasing incidence worldwide and a high socio-economic impact. The term (ICP) refers to "a complex intervention for the mutual decision making and organization of care processes for a well-defined group of patients during a well-defined period".

Efficacy and Safety Results from a Phase 2, Randomized, Double-Blind Study of Enzalutamide Versus Placebo in Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

Background And Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Despite recent advances, more effective therapeutic options for patients with advanced HCC are still required. The aim of this Phase 2, multicenter, multinational, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study (NCT02528643) was to investigate the potential benefit of enzalutamide in the treatment of patients with advanced HCC.

Comorbidities and treatment patterns in adult patients with atopic dermatitis: results from a nationwide multicenter study.

Adult atopic dermatitis (adult AD) is a systemic inflammatory disorder, whose relationship with immune-allergic and metabolic comorbidities is not well established yet. Moreover, treatment of mild-to-moderate and severe atopic dermatitis needs standardization among clinicians. The aim of this study was to evaluate the distribution of comorbidities, including metabolic abnormalities, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, asthma, alopecia and sleep disturbance, according to severity of adult AD, and describe treatments most commonly used by Italian dermatologists.

Upright BPPV Protocol: Feasibility of a New Diagnostic Paradigm for Lateral Semicircular Canal Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo Compared to Standard Diagnostic Maneuvers.

The diagnosis of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) involving the lateral semicircular canal (LSC) is traditionally entrusted to the supine head roll test, also known as supine head yaw test (SHYT), which usually allows identification of the pathologic side and BPPV form (geotropic vs. apogeotropic). Nevertheless, SHYT may not always allow easy detection of the affected canal, resulting in similar responses on both sides and intense autonomic symptoms in patients with recent onset of vertigo.

Combined and simultaneous endoscopic endonasal and transorbital surgery for a Meckel's cave schwannoma: technical nuances of a mini-invasive, multiportal approach.

Objective: Over the years, Meckel's cave pathologies have been judged off-limits because of high rates of morbidity. Even though several studies have defined various surgical routes with tolerable morbidity and mortality rates, controversies related to the optimal avenue to treat different categories of Meckel's cave and cavernous sinus neoplasms persist. With unceasing energy to cultivate minimally invasive neurosurgical approaches, the endoscopic endonasal route has been tested, and the approach effectively performed, to provide a valid surgical window to these areas.
