Background: Conversion of a failed proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) to a total hip arthroplasty (THA) is becoming increasingly universal. However, consensus has not been reached regarding which device (uncemented or hybrid THA) to use. The aim of this retrospective study was to compare the clinical outcomes of the conversion of failed PFNAs to uncemented versus hybrid THAs in the elderly population.

Background: The Hippo pathway is an essential signaling cascade that regulates cell and organ growth. However, there is no consensus about (i) the expression levels of the Hippo signaling core components yes-associated protein (YAP) and transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) in lung cancer, especially in small cell lung cancer (SCLC), or (ii) their association with the prognosis of patients with SCLC.
Methods: We screened relevant articles and identified eligible studies in the PubMed, EMBASE, COCHRANE, and WanFang databases.
Purpose: The direct anterior approach (DAA) for total hip arthroplasty (THA) can be performed with patients in either in the lateral decubitus or supine position. Prompted by the lack of studies addressing differences between the two positions, this investigation aimed to examine clinical and radiographic outcomes and compare the lateral decubitus versus the supine position for THA using the DAA.
Methods: Between January 1 and October 1, 2020, 90 patients who underwent primary unilateral THA using the DAA were recruited, with 54 (60%) undergoing THA in the supine position (SP group) and 36 (40%) in the lateral decubitus position (LP group).

Conductive hydrogel is a vital candidate for the fabrication of flexible and wearable electric sensors due to its good designability and biocompatibility. These well-designed conductive hydrogel-based flexible strain sensors show great potential in human motion monitoring, artificial skin, brain computer interface (BCI), and so on. However, easy drying and freezing of conductive hydrogels with high water content greatly limited their further application.

The global COVID-19 pandemic starting at 2020 induced by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 virus (SARS-CoV-2) has revealed a very pressing need for rapid, affordable and effective diagnosis for epidemic management and control. Although several commercialized analytical methods (, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay) have been developed for detecting SARS-CoV-2, they are expensive and time-consuming. Most recently, low-cost molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)-based sensors have received attention.

Introduction: Perioperative neurocognitive disorders (PND) are common neurological complications after surgery. Diabetes mellitus (DM) has been reported to be an independent risk factor for PND, but little is known about its mechanism of action. Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling is crucial for neuronal growth, development, apoptosis, and autophagy, but the dysregulation of mTOR signaling leads to neurological disorders.
