Introduction: Prolonged-release oxycodone/naloxone (OXN PR), combining an opioid analgesic with selective blockade of enteric µ-opioid receptors, provided effective analgesia and improved bowel function in patients with moderate-to-severe pain and opioid-induced constipation in clinical trials predominantly conducted in Western countries. This double-blind randomized controlled trial investigated OXN PR (N = 116) versus prolonged-release oxycodone (OXY PR, N = 115) for 8 weeks at doses up to 50 mg/day in patients with moderate-to-severe, chronic, non-malignant musculoskeletal pain and opioid-induced constipation recruited in China.

Primary hepatic neuroendocrine tumors (PHNETs) are extremely rare NETs originating from the liver. These tumors are associated with heterogeneous prognosis, and few treatment targets for PHNETs have been identified. Because the major genetic alterations in PHNET are still largely unknown, we performed whole-exome sequencing of 22 paired tissues from PHNET patients and identified 22 recurring mutations of somatic genes involved in the following activities: epigenetic modification (BPTF, MECP2 and WDR5), cell cycle (TP53, ATM, MED12, DIDO1 and ATAD5) and neural development (UBR4, MEN1, GLUL and GIGYF2).

Mounting evidence have demonstrated that gut microbiota plays a critical role in cancer patients' therapeutic responses to chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy, including clinical efficacy and sensitivity to toxicity. These fascinating findings evoke a possibility of manipulating gut microbiota to optimize anti-cancer treatment from bench to beside. The present observational study evaluated long-term management of hypertension in patients who received treatment with valsartan and amlodipine in a single-pill combination (Val/Aml SPC) in a real-world setting in China (Chinese Clinical Trial Registry number ChiCTR1900021324). This was a prospective, observational, multicenter, real-world registry study wherein patients with hypertension who had already received Val/Aml SPC (80/5 mg) for at least 4 weeks before study enrollment were observed for 1 year.
