Serine/arginine repetitive matrix 2 (SRRM2) has been implicated in tumorigenesis, cancer development, and drug resistance through aberrant splicing; however, its correlation with multiple myeloma (MM) has not been reported. We investigated the potential of SRRM2 as a biomarker and immunotherapeutic target in MM by examining its expression in MM cells using flow cytometry. Our study included 95 patients with plasma cell disease, including 80 MM cases, and we detected SRRM2 expression on plasma cells and normal blood cells to analyze its relationship with clinical profiles.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a significant contributor to cancer-related mortality globally, with the heterogeneity of metastasis and treatment impacting patient prognosis. Currently, the treatment of GC still relies on early surgical resection, and comprehensive treatment is needed for patients with metastatic GC. Anikis-related genes (ANRGs) have been shown to affect tumor metastasis.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a solid tumor with high morbidity and mortality rates. Accumulating evidence shows that the soluble carrier family 35 member A2 (SLC35A2), a nucleotide sugar transporter, plays a key role in the pathogenesis of various tumors. However, its expression and function in CRC has not been fully elucidated.

Circular RNA (circRNA) can be used as a potential target for cancer treatment. However, the biological function and potential molecular mechanism of circ_0058123 in the development of colorectal cancer (CRC) are still unclear. The expression levels of circ_0058123, microRNA-939-5p (miR-939-5p) and Rac family small GTPase 1 (RAC1) were measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction or western blot assay.

Background: A femoral neck fracture is a common and frequently reported issue in orthopedics, with a greater rate of incidence among the elderly. Due to their advanced age and the presence of some primary diseases, both anesthesia and surgery are increasingly difficult in elderly patients with a femoral neck fractures. In fact, general anesthesia can easily induce complications such as cognitive dysfunction, which is not conducive to postoperative recovery.

Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin 300070, China.

Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is an aggressive malignancy with a high mortality rate and poor prognosis. Telomeric repeat-binding factor 2 (TRF2) is a critical telomere protection protein. Emerging evidence indicates that TRF2 may be an essential treatment option for GC; however, the exact mechanism remains largely unknown.

May 2023

Department of General Surgery, First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University, Hefei 230032, China; Fuyang Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University, Fuyang 236000, China. Electronic address:

This study explored the connection between KDM6A expression and patient prognosis and the mechanism of KDM6A's role in developing GC (GC). From the immunohistochemical Analysis of 107 GC patients' tumors, we discovered that patients with reduced KDM6A expression had a shorter survival time. There was a correlation between KDM6A expression and the degree of differentiation of tumor tissue, T stage, N stage, and TNM stage.

Inflammation and Immune Mediated Diseases Laboratory of Anhui Province, Anhui Institute of Innovative Drugs, Institute for Liver Diseases of Anhui Medical University, School of Pharmacy, Anhui Medical University, Hefei, 230032, PR China. Electronic address:

Design of oligonucleotide probe-based isothermal amplification with the ability to identify miRNA biomarkers is crucial for molecular diagnostics. Herein, we engineered a miRNA-21 responsive G-quadruplex-deficient precursor hairpin probe (PHP) to achieve dual-mode detection of fluorescent signal and colorimetric signal. Due to lack of complete G-quadruplex sequence, PHP becomes shorter in length, lower background signal and less interference.

Purpose: To assess air pollution-induced changes on ocular surface and tear cytokine levels.

Methods: As a prospective multicenter cohort study, 387 dry eye disease (DED) participants were recruited from five provinces in China and underwent measurements of ocular surface disease index (OSDI), Schirmer's I test (ST), tear meniscus height (TMH), tear film break-up time (TBUT), corneal fluorescein staining (CFS), meibomian gland (MG) function, and tear cytokines. The associations between ocular surface parameters and exposure to particulate matter (PM), ozone (O), nitrogen dioxide (NO), and sulfur dioxide (SO) for 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month before the examination were analyzed in single- and multi-pollutant models adjusted for confounding factors.

Pancreatic cancer (PC), the most common fatal solid malignancy, has a very dismal prognosis. Clinical computerized tomography (CT) and pathological TNM staging are no longer sufficient for determining a patient's prognosis. Although numerous studies have suggested that glycolysis is important in the onset and progression of cancer, there are few publications on its impact on PC.

Division of Molecular Medicine, CAS Key Laboratory of Innate Immunity and Chronic Disease, Department of Life Sciences and Medicine, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, China.

Gastric cancer is the fifth most common malignancy and the third leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Immunotherapy offers promising new treatment options for gastric cancer patients; however, it is only effective in a limited fraction of patients. In this study, we evaluated the composition of 22 tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in TCGA Stomach Adenocarcinoma (STAD) using deconvolution-based method by analyzing the publicly available bulk tumor RNA-seq data.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a heterogeneous condition characterized by cartilage degradation, subchondral sclerosis, and osteophyte formation, and accompanied by the generation of pro-inflammatory mediators and degradation of extracellular matrix. The current treatment for early OA is focused on the relief of symptoms, such as pain, but this treatment cannot delay the pathological process. L-Glutamine (L-Gln), which has anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects, is the most abundant amino acid in human blood.
