Objectives: To evaluate the implementation and sustainability of the effect of a 1-year Leadership in Education for Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) program in a southeastern state, and to examine its impact on advancing the Maternal Child Health Bureau's (MCHB) Blueprint for Change-a national agenda for pediatric healthcare reform.
Methods: This study applies the Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, and Sustainment (EPIS) framework to rigorously evaluate LEND implementation and impact between 2018 and 2022. In-depth interviews (N = 24) were conducted among long-term (1-year) LEND trainees, via Zoom, in a southeastern state.

Surface-anchored metal-organic frameworks (surMOFs) are crystalline, nanoporous, supramolecular materials mounted to substrates that have the potential for integration within device architectures relevant for a variety of electronic, photonic, sensing, and gas storage applications. This research investigates the thin film formation of the Cu-BDC (copper benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate) MOF system on a carboxylic acid-terminated self-assembled monolayer by alternating deposition of solution-phase inorganic and organic precursors. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) characterization demonstrate that crystalline Cu-BDC thin films are formed via Volmer-Weber growth.

Youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are at nearly twice the risk of experiencing obesity, compared to youth without ASD. Wellness Education to Create Healthy habits and Actions to Thrive (WE CHAT) is a novel chatbot that engages participants to enhance primary care delivery and associated care coordination services through mobile health (mHealth) technology focused on social determinants of health (SDOH) and social-emotional health. This study examines multiple perspectives regarding the development and implementation of innovative mHealth technology among youth with ASD.

Robert Stickgold's research was among the earliest to rigorously quantify the effect of learning on dream content. As a result, we learned that dreaming is influenced by the activation of newly formed memory traces in the sleeping brain. Exactly how this happens is an ongoing area of investigation.

Background: Pediatric Support Services (PSS) is a Patient Navigation Program designed to address barriers from referral-to-service connection from primary care to health system and community-based services and resources. This study aimed to evaluate PSS' implementation for mental health services along the Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, Maintenance (RE-AIM) framework and identify factors throughout implementation to inform sustainability and delivery.
Methods: This study included descriptive analysis of all patients referred to PSS to assess reach, with a primary cohort analyses of a subset of patients referred specifically to mental health services.

Livestock can contribute fecal indicator bacteria (FIB) to waterbodies. However, few studies have examined the relationship between watershed land use or land cover involving livestock production and the genetic diversity of Escherichia coli in freshwater ecosystems. Our major goal was to determine if FIB abundance and E.

Objectives: Mobile health clinics (MHCs) effectively provide healthcare to underserved communities. However, their application during health emergencies is understudied. We described the implementation of an MHC program delivering vaccinations during the COVID-19 pandemic, examined the program's reach to medically underserved communities, and investigated characteristics of vaccination uptake in order to inform the utility of MHCs during health emergencies.

Semilocal and random phase approximation (RPA) density functional theory (DFT) and complete active space (CASSCF + NEVPT2) methodologies were applied to investigate a new class of extended metal atom chain (EMAC) complexes. A novel triferrous complex has been synthesized recently that does not utilize the usual 2,2'-dipyridylamine (dpa) ligand framework, which essentially always results in a tetragonal coordination environment and general formula M(dpa)X, where X is an anion. Instead, the triferrous complex utilizes a dianionic, 2,6-bis(trimethylsilylamido)pyridine ligand (L) resulting in the formation of trigonal complexes with general formula .

Monitoring volatile organic compounds is critical to mitigate the risks they pose to human health and the environment. Developing technologies for detection of VOCs requires methods to produce the desired concentrations for benchmarking. Herein, we present a simple, inexpensive, and flexible platform capable of producing user-specified concentrations of a gas-phase analyte for the purpose of fine-tuning and benchmarking VOC detection technologies.

DNA-bound silver clusters are most readily recognized by their strong fluorescence that spans the visible and near-infrared regions. From this suite of chromophores, we chose a green-emitting Ag bound to CACTCGT and describe how this DNA/cluster pair is also a catalyst. A DNA-tethered alkyne conjugates with an azide cycloaddition, an inherently slow reaction that is facilitated through the joint efforts of the cluster and DNA.

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a disease marked by a surplus of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell that causes inflammation and irritation. The current diagnostic and monitoring procedure for EoE is endoscopy with biopsy, which is invasive, expensive, and leads to tissue tearing in patients. A biomarker in plasma would offer a much less invasive form of disease monitoring for patients with EoE.

The people within the Asian and Pacific Islander racial/ethnic category used in the United States are often misrepresented as a monolithic group when, in reality, the group includes people from over 48 different countries with diverse cultures, languages, and customs. Asian and Pacific Islander people experience racism and racialization in nuanced ways that are influenced by immigrant generations, histories of colonization, and origin countries' relationship with the US. This study examines the racialized experiences of Asian and Pacific Islander women in the United States.

As the population ages, it is essential that professionals across disciplines have experience and competence working with older adults. Though experiential learning opportunities have been extensively documented as a tool to accomplish this goal, student engagement in gerontology research has not been examined in detail. This participatory case study highlights the perspectives of undergraduate student researchers involved in a hands-on pilot research study that explored connections between cognitive, physical, and everyday function in midlife and older adults while testing the feasibility of a mobile app for early detection of cognitive decline related to Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

Tetrahedrite (CuSbS) and famatinite (CuSbS) are good candidates for green energy applications because they possess promising thermoelectric and photovoltaic properties as well as contain earth-abundant and nontoxic constituents. Herein, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS), and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy (EPR) methods examined inherent electronic properties and interatomic magnetic interactions of Cu-site doped tetrahedrite and famatinite nanomaterials. An energy-efficient modified polyol method was utilized for the synthesis of tetrahedrite and famatinite nanoparticles doped on the Cu-site with Zn, Fe, Ni, Mn, and Co.

Background: Children with medical complexity (CMC) comprise < 1% of the pediatric population, but account for nearly one-third of healthcare expenditures. Further, while CMC account for up to 80% of pediatric inpatient hospital costs, only 2% of Medicaid spending is attributed to home healthcare. As a result, the current health system heavily relies on family caregivers to fill existing care gaps.

Drug-target affinity (DTA) prediction is an important task in the early stages of drug discovery. Traditional biological approaches are time-consuming, effort-consuming, and resource-consuming due to the large size of genomic and chemical spaces. Computational approaches using machine learning have emerged to narrow down the drug candidate search space.

While machine learning and artificial intelligence offer promising avenues in the computer-aided design of materials, the complexity of these computational techniques remains a barrier for scientists outside of the specific fields of study. Leveraging decision tree models, inspired by empirical methodologies, offers a pragmatic solution to the knowledge barrier presented by artificial intelligence (AI). Herein, we present a model allowing for the qualitative prediction of melting points of ionic liquids derived from the crystallographic analysis of a series of phosphonium-based ionic liquids.
