Accurate prognosis prediction of unilateral spatial neglect (USN) is clinically important for identifying patients with potentially poor recovery who require more intensive rehabilitation and early interdisciplinary support for residual disabilities. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based neuroimaging can provide clinicians with high-quality and high-resolution neuroanatomical information from the aspects of neuroanatomy, integrity of the neural tract, and neural functional connectivity. Although the application of MRI is expected beneficial for the prognosis prediction of USN, there is still no systematic review of its usefulness, and it has not been standardized in the field of stroke rehabilitation.

The Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL) is used in training to improve walking ability for stroke patients; however, the quality of the evidence for its effects has not been fully critiqued to date. This study conducted a systematic review of randomized controlled trials to investigate the effectiveness of post-stroke gait training with the HAL. PubMed, the Cochrane Library, the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), and the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) were searched for randomized controlled clinical trials evaluating the effect of HAL on gait training in stroke patients, published from the inception of each database until March 2021.

The mismatch response (MMR) is thought to be a neurophysiological measure of novel auditory detection that could serve as a translational biomarker of various neurological diseases. When recorded with electroencephalography (EEG) or magnetoencephalography (MEG), the MMR is traditionally extracted by subtracting the event-related potential/field (ERP/ERF) elicited in response to "deviant" sounds that occur randomly within a train of repetitive "standard" sounds. We previously showed that treating NOD mice with an agonistic monoclonal anti-TLR4/MD2 antibody (TLR4-Ab) reversed acute type 1 diabetes (T1D). Here, we show that TLR4-Ab reverses T1D by induction of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). Unbiased gene expression analysis after TLR4-Ab treatment demonstrated upregulation of genes associated with CD11b+Ly6G+ myeloid cells and downregulation of T-cell genes.

Introduction: From 2018, IR Biotyper (IRBT; Bruker Daltonik GmbH, Germany) based on the Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer has begun to be introduced as a new strain classification method in the field of clinical microbiological examination. We compared it with molecular epidemiology method to evaluate the usefulness of strain classification by IRBT.
Method: Homology of strain classification with molecular epidemiology method (Multilocus Sequencing Typing; MLST and PCR-based ORF Typing; POT) for 48 strains of with different detection times from multiple institutions to evaluate the accuracy of IRBT was compared.

Combining transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and repetitive gait training may be effective for gait performance recovery after stroke; however, the timing of stimulation to obtain the best outcomes remains unclear. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to establish evidence for changes in gait performance between online stimulation (tDCS and repetitive gait training simultaneously) and offline stimulation (gait training after tDCS). We comprehensively searched the electronic databases Medline, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Physiotherapy Evidence Database, and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, and included studies that combined cases of anodal tDCS with motor-related areas of the lower limbs and gait training.

Patients with cortical reflex myoclonus manifest typical neurophysiologic characteristics due to primary sensorimotor cortex (S1/M1) hyperexcitability, namely, contralateral giant somatosensory-evoked potentials/fields and a C-reflex (CR) in the stimulated arm. Some patients show a CR in both arms in response to unilateral stimulation, with about 10-ms delay in the non-stimulated compared with the stimulated arm. This bilateral C-reflex (BCR) may reflect strong involvement of bilateral S1/M1.
