Highly efficient red-emitting Eu-doped double perovskite CaYSbO phosphors have been successfully prepared by the traditional high-temperature solid state method. The phase purity, photoluminescence and decay properties as a function of the Eu concentration have been investigated in detail. The XRD results demonstrate that all of the obtained phosphors can be assigned to a pure monoclinic structure.

β-NaYF nanocrystal embedded glass ceramics were fabricated by a melt-quenching method with subsequent heat-treatment. Structural characterizations and spectrographic techniques were performed to verify the successful precipitation of β-NaYF nanocrystals and partition of dopants. Upon excitation of 980 nm, bright green upconversion emission could be achieved in Yb, Er codoped β-NaYF nanocrystal embedded glass ceramics.
