Validation Status of Electronic Sphygmomanometers in China: A National Survey.

Background: Although the information on the validation status of electronic sphygmomanometer (ES) devices in use in health care institutions and households is much more clinically relevant than that of ES models available on the market, it remains insufficient.

Methods: A national survey was conducted across all administrative regions of mainland China to assess the validation status of ESs. Fifty-eight cities were selected with stratification by municipality, provincial capital, and other cities, and health care institutions and households in each city were chosen by convenience to identify ES devices in use according to the study protocol.

Here, it is demonstrated that mannose, a hexose, closely correlates with the pathological characteristics of AD, as confirmed by measuring mannose levels in the brains and serum of AD mice, as well as in the serum of AD patients. AD mice are given mannose by intra-cerebroventricular injection (ICV) or in drinking water to investigate the effects of mannose on cognition and AD pathological progression.

Postoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy plus apatinib for patients with high-grade glioma: a retrospective cohort study.

Background: Radiotherapy plus temozolomide followed by adjuvant temozolomide was the standard treatment for high-grade gliomas. This study aimed to explore the effectiveness and safety of the addition of apatinib in patients with high-grade gliomas after surgery.

Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, patients with high-grade glioma [World Health Organization (WHO) grade III or IV] treated with apatinib and concurrent chemoradiotherapy (cCRT) after surgery from October 2017 to February 2021 were reviewed.

This study aims to explore the mechanism of Zhuanggu Jianxi Decoction in reducing synovial tissue inflammation in human knee osteoarthritis(KOA) via the liver X receptors(LXRs)/nuclear factor(NF)-κB signaling pathway. The synovial tissue samples were collected from 5 healthy volunteers and 30 KOA synovitis patients and cultured in vitro. The samples from the heathy volunteers were set as the normal group, and those from KOA synovitis patients were randomized into synovitis, Zhuanggu Jianxi Decoction, LXRα inhibitor, and N-CoR inhibitor groups.
