In this study, we aimed to provide guidance for selecting bone grafting materials in cases of alveolar clefts. Twenty-nine patients with unilateral complete alveolar clefts were categorized into three groups based on the bone grafting material used: Group A (iliac bone block grafts), Group B (iliac cancellous bone grafts), and Group C (chin bone block grafts). Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) data were analyzed using Mimics 19.

Open Cu sites were loaded to the UiO-67 metal-organic framework (MOF) skeleton by introduction of flexible Cu-binding pyridylmethylamine () side chains to the biphenyldicarboxylate linkers. Distance between Cu centers in the MOF pores was tuned by controlling the density of metal-binding side chains. "Interacted" Cu-pair or "isolated" monomeric Cu sites were achieved with high and low ()Cu side chain loading, respectively.

The deployment of Li-S batteries in the commercial sector faces obstacles due to their low electrical conductivity, slow redox reactions, quick fading of capacity, and reduced coulombic efficiency. These issues stem from the "shuttle effect" associated with lithium polysulfides (LiPSs). In this work, a haystack-like CeO derived from a cerium-based metal-organic framework (Ce-MOF) is obtained for the modification of a polypropylene separator.

With the continuous development of laser technology and the increasing demand for lasers of different frequencies in the infrared (IR) spectrum, research on infrared nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals has garnered growing attention. Currently, the three main commercially available types of borate materials each have their drawbacks, which limit their applications in various areas. Rare-earth (RE)-based chalcogenide compounds, characterized by the unique f-electron configuration, strong positive charges, and high coordination numbers of RE cations, often exhibit distinctive optical responses.

CAS Key Laboratory of Design and Assembly of Functional Nanostructures, Fujian Key Laboratory of Nanomaterials, and State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fuzhou 350002, China.

The practical application of rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) has been severely hindered by detrimental dendrite growth, uncontrollable hydrogen evolution, and unfavorable side reactions occurring at the Zn metal anode. Here, we applied a Prussian blue analogue (PBA) material KZn(Fe(CN)) as an artificial solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), by which the plentiful -C≡N- ligands at the surface and the large channels in the open framework structure can operate as a highly zincophilic moderator and ion sieve, inducing fast and uniform nucleation and deposition of Zn. Additionally, the dense interface effectively prevents water molecules from approaching the Zn surface, thereby inhibiting the hydrogen-evolution-resultant side reactions and corrosion.

Electronic address:

There is a pressing demand for the development of novel birefringent crystals tailored for compact optical components, especially for crystals exhibiting large birefringence across a range of temperatures. This has commonly been achieved by introducing various deformable groups with high polarizability anisotropy. In this study, we combined both rigid and deformable groups to synthesise a new birefringent crystal, AlTeMoO, which demonstrates an exceptional birefringence value of 0.

Antimony sulfide (SbS) has a high theoretical specific capacity due to its two reaction mechanisms of conversion and alloying during the Li-(de)intercalation process, thus becoming a promising lithium-ion battery (LIB) anode material. However, its poor inherent conductivity and large volume expansion during repeated Li-(de)intercalation processes greatly hinder the in-depth development of SbS based LIB anode materials. Herein, an SbS/SnO@rGO composite was prepared by using an interface engineering technique involving metal-containing ionic liquid precursors, in which SbS/SnO quantum dots (QDs) as p-n heterojunctions are uniformly anchored on the surface of reduced graphene oxide (rGO).

Currently, high-performance polymerized small-molecule acceptors (PSMAs) based on ADA-type SMAs are still rare and greatly demanded for polymer solar cells (PSCs). Herein, two novel regioregular PSMAs (PW-Se and PS-Se) are designed and synthesized by using centrosymmetric (linear-shaped) and axisymmetric (banana-shaped) ADA-type SMAs as the main building blocks, respectively. It is demonstrated that photovoltaic performance of the PSMAs can be significantly improved by optimizing the configuration of ADA-type SMAs.

Here, the molecule-modified Cu-based array is first constructed as the self-supporting tandem catalyst for electrocatalytic CO reduction reaction (CORR) to C products. The modification of cuprous oxide nanowire array on copper mesh (CuO@CM) with cobalt(II) tetraphenylporphyrin (CoTPP) molecules is achieved via a simple liquid phase method. The systematical characterizations confirm that the formation of axial coordinated Co-O-Cu bond between CuO and CoTPP can significantly promote the dispersion of CoTPP molecules on CuO and the electrical properties of CoTPP-CuO@CM heterojunction array.
