Background: The nose is a common site for the development of skin cancers. Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) is a highly curative treatment for skin cancer of the nose. Reconstruction of MMS defects on the nose, especially on the distal aspect, can be challenging given the proximity of multiple subunits and limited adjacent tissue reservoirs.

Dorsal preservation rhinoplasty (DPR), one of the tenets of preservation rhinoplasty, centers on preservation of the native osseocartilaginous joint of the dorsum, with changes instead achieved through modification of the underlying septal cartilage and surrounding bony nasal pyramid. However, one complication unique to DPR is the phenomenon of hump recurrence, where tensile forces or memory lead to a recurrent convexity of the dorsal hump.

Fibrous dysplasia is a benign fibro-osseous process affecting the skeletal system, with resulting cystic and fibrous tissue expansion. Craniofacial fibrous dysplasia represents a small subset of monostotic disease, accounting for approximately 10%-25% of all such cases. Involvement of the frontal, temporal, and sphenoid bones has most commonly been described, with a limited number of reported cases citing disease isolated to the nasal bones.

Specific Aim: Provide an overview of the literature addressing major areas pertinent to pain in transgender persons and to identify areas of primary relevance for future research.
Methods: A team of scholars that have previously published on different areas of related research met periodically though zoom conferencing between April 2021 and February 2023 to discuss relevant literature with the goal of providing an overview on the incidence, phenotype, and mechanisms of pain in transgender patients. Review sections were written after gathering information from systematic literature searches of published or publicly available electronic literature to be compiled for publication as part of a topical series on gender and pain in the Frontiers in Pain Research.

Background: Children with syndromic craniosynostosis require multiple cranial expansion procedures. The purpose of this study was to determine how many expansions are typically performed through maturity, to assess complication rates, and to identify trends that might reduce the burden of care.
Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted of all consecutive patients undergoing cranial vault enlargement procedures for syndromic craniosynostosis performed by a single surgeon.

Introduction: Facial aging has long been an area of focus in esthetic surgery. It is the consequence of physiologic and environmental factors, with a trend toward non-surgical modalities. Although volume augmentation has long been a focus of non-surgical facial rejuvenation, there is emerging interest in the use of biostimulators to induce physiologic changes in the skin.

Preoperative injection of Botulinum Toxin A (Botox) has been described as an adjunctive therapy to facilitate fascial closure of large hernia defects in abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of Botox injections on fascial closure and overall outcomes to further validate its role in AWR. A prospectively maintained database was retrospectively reviewed to identify all patients undergoing AWR at our institution between January 2014 and March 2022.

The likelihood of developing a diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) during one's lifetime for individuals with diabetes mellitus is around 19% to 34%. Continuous and repetitive loading on soft tissues are the major causative factors for DFU. This paper introduces an air cell array insole designed for cyclically offloading pressure from plantar regions to reduce repetitive stress and loading on foot.

Purpose: Proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint arthrodesis is a procedure employed to address arthritis, instability, and deformity. Multiple fixation methods are available to maintain stability across the arthrodesis interval, including headless compression screws (HCSs), tension band wiring (TBW), plating, and Kirschner wire constructs. The purpose of this study was to compare the biomechanical properties of the HCS and TBW techniques.

Percutaneous Achilles tendon lengthening is an effective surgical procedure to treat and prevent forefoot and midfoot ulcerations in patients with diabetes. Patients with diabetes are prone to plantar ulcerations due to a combination of factors, such as peripheral neuropathy, decreased tendon elasticity, peripheral vascular disease, and hyperglycemia. Complications such as re-ulceration and transfer lesion to the heel, associated with a calcaneal gait secondary to over-lengthening, are possible with percutaneous Achilles tendon lengthening.

Background: Minimally invasive temperature-controlled radiofrequency (TCRF) ablation of the posterior nasal nerve (PNN) demonstrated a significant larger treatment effect on the symptom burden of chronic rhinitis patients than a sham control (no energy delivery) at the 3-month primary endpoint of this trial.
Methods: Two-year posttreatment outcomes for patients treated in a prospective, multicenter, patient-blinded randomized controlled trial were determined by combining the index active treatment-arm and index control-arm crossover patients into a single group (after the primary endpoint) to evaluate the treatment effect durability and long-term effects on concomitant chronic rhinitis medication usage.
Results: The mean baseline reflective total nasal symptom score (rTNSS) was 8.

AdAPT-001 is an oncolytic adenovirus (OAV) with a transforming growth factor beta (TGF-ß) trap, which neutralizes the immunosuppressive and profibrotic cytokine, TGF-ß. The aim or purpose of this phase 1 study was to assess the safety and tolerability and, secondarily, the efficacy of AdAPT-001 after single intratumoral injection (IT) (Part 1) and multidose IT injection (Part 2) in patients with superficially accessible, advanced refractory solid tumors. Part 1 enrolled 9 patients with a 3 + 3 single dose-escalation safety run-in involving 2.

At present, there are no standardized guidelines for determining patient eligibility for pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) clinical trials. Thus, we aim to determine which clinical features, histopathological features, or laboratory features should be included in active ulcerative PG clinical trial eligibility criteria for treatment-naïve patients and patients already treated with immunomodulating medications (treatment-exposed patients). This study employed 4 rounds of the Delphi technique.

Background: Ocular hypertelorism (OH) was initially considered as un-differentiated congenital cranio-facial deformity, however, I.T Jackson mentioned it as teleorbitism, considering it as increase in the inter-canthal width, inter-pupillary as well as inter-orbital distance as a result of lateralization of the orbital complex in total. Furthermore, Sailer further refined it and included the distance from the lateral orbital wall, i.
