Introduction: Despite evidence that use of electronic medical record (EMR) messaging positively impacts patients with cancer, there is little research on utilization patterns. The objective of this study is to describe the use of EMR messaging among breast cancer patients so that future interventions may be developed and targeted appropriately.
Materials And Methods: Sociodemographic and MyChart usage data were collected.
Purpose: Total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) is a newly established standard treatment for rectal adenocarcinoma. Current methods to communicate magnitudes of regression during TNT are subjective and imprecise. Magnetic resonance tumor regression grade (MR-TRG) is an existing, but rarely used, regression grading system.

The use of electronic health/medical record (EMR) systems has streamlined medical practice and improved efficiency of clinical care in recent years. However, EMR systems are not generally well designed to support research and tracking of longitudinal outcomes across populations, which are particularly important in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) and immune effector cell therapy (IEC), where data reporting to registries and regulatory agencies are often required. Since its formation in 2014, the HCT EMR user group has worked with a large EMR vendor (Epic) to develop many functionalities within the EMR to improve the care of HCT/IEC patients and facilitate the capture of HCT/IEC data in an easily interoperable format.

Introduction: The American College of Surgeons (ACS) delineates trauma team activation (TTA) criteria to identify seriously injured trauma patients in the field. Patients are deemed to be severely undertriaged (SU), placing them at risk for adverse outcomes, when they do not meet TTA criteria but nonetheless sustain significant injuries (Injury Severity Score [ISS] ≥25).
Objectives: Delineate patient demographics, injuries, and outcomes after SU.

The use of central venous access devices is ubiquitous in both inpatient and outpatient settings, whether for critical care, oncology, hemodialysis, parenteral nutrition, or diagnostic purposes. Radiology has a well-established role in the placement of these devices due to demonstrated benefits of radiologic placement in multiple clinical settings. A wide variety of devices are available for central venous access and optimal device selection is a common clinical challenge.

As the incidence of thoracoabdominal aortic pathology (aneurysm and dissection) rises and the complexity of endovascular and surgical treatment options increases, imaging follow-up of patients remains crucial. Patients with thoracoabdominal aortic pathology without intervention should be monitored carefully for changes in aortic size or morphology that could portend rupture or other complication. Patients who are post endovascular or open surgical aortic repair should undergo follow-up imaging to evaluate for complications, endoleak, or recurrent pathology.

Vertebral compression fractures (VCFs) can have a variety of etiologies, including trauma, osteoporosis, or neoplastic infiltration. Osteoporosis related fractures are the most common cause of VCFs and have a high prevalence among all postmenopausal women with increasing incidence in similarly aged men. Trauma is the most common etiology in those >50 years of age.

Background: The optimal dosing for enoxaparin venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis in low-weight trauma patients is unknown. Estimated blood volume (EBV) has shown promise as a dose modifier.
Objective: To characterize the association of enoxaparin dose per EBV with the prevalence of VTE and bleeding in low-weight trauma patients.
Purpose: It remains unknown whether or not short-term androgen deprivation (STAD) improves survival among men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer (IRPC) treated with dose-escalated radiotherapy (RT).
Methods: The NRG Oncology/Radiation Therapy Oncology Group 0815 study randomly assigned 1,492 patients with stage T2b-T2c, Gleason score 7, or prostate-specific antigen (PSA) value >10 and ≤20 ng/mL to dose-escalated RT alone (arm 1) or with STAD (arm 2). STAD was 6 months of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonist/antagonist therapy plus antiandrogen.

Hospital-associated delirium is common in older adults, especially those with dementia, and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. We performed a feasibility study in the emergency department (ED) to examine the effect of light and/or music on the incidence of hospital- associated delirium. Patients aged ≥ 65 who presented to the ED and tested positive for cognitive impairment were enrolled in the study (n = 133).

Digital flat-panel detector cone-beam CT (CBCT), introduced in the early 2000s, was historically used in interventional radiology primarily for liver-directed therapies. However, contemporary advanced imaging applications, including enhanced needle guidance and augmented fluoroscopy overlay, have evolved substantially over the prior decade and now work synergistically with CBCT guidance to overcome limitations encountered with other imaging modalities. CBCT with advanced imaging applications has become increasingly used to facilitate a broad range of minimally invasive procedures, particularly relating to pain and musculoskeletal interventions.

Objective: To describe the lived experience of nursing staff and nurse leaders working in COVID-19 devoted units (intensive care or medical unit) prior to vaccine availability.
Research Design: Qualitative phenomenological design with a focus group approach.
Methods: The study team recruited a convenience sample of nursing staff (nurses, and nursing assistants/nurse technicians) and nurse leaders (managers, assistant nurse managers, clinical nurse specialists, and nurse educators) at an academic medical center in the midwestern United States.
Purpose: Dickkopf-1 (DKK1) is a Wnt signaling modulator promoting tumor growth, metastasis, angiogenesis, and immunosuppression by regulating innate immunity. DKK1 is over-expressed in gynecologic cancers and is associated with shortened survival. DKN-01 is a humanized monoclonal antibody with DKK1 neutralizing activity that may provide clinical benefit to patients whose tumors have overexpression of DKK1 or Wnt genetic alterations.
