Apoptosis, often known as programmed cell death is a mechanism used by numerous species to maintain tissue homeostasis. The process leading to cell death is complicated because it requires the stimulation of caspases. According to several studies, nanowires have important medical benefits, can kill cells by adhering to cancer cells, destroying them, and killing the entire cell using a triple attack that integrates vibration, heat, and drug delivery to trigger apoptosis.

Trends in incidence of invasive vaginal cancer in France from 1990 to 2018 and survival of recently diagnosed women - A population-based study.

Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol

April 2023

FRANCIM Network, Toulouse F-31073, France; Doubs Cancer Registry, Besançon University Hospital, Besançon, France; Research Unit EA3181, Franche-Comté University, Besançon, France.

Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzed trends in the incidence of vaginal cancer in France over 28 years and assessed survival rates for women diagnosed recently (2010-2015).
  • Data from French cancer registries showed a significant 3% annual decline in the age-standardized incidence rate of vaginal cancer from 1990 (0.4 cases per 100,000) to 2018 (0.2 cases per 100,000).
  • Although vaginal cancer remains rare, with a median diagnosis age of 75 and low 5-year net survival rates (45%), the decrease in incidence is not yet clearly linked to HPV vaccination, as the disease primarily affects older women.

Racing events challenge the fluid balance of athletic horses. The equine large intestine functions as a fluid reservoir, since the properties of dietary forage fibre affect the digesta water content and the milieu of this ecosystem. This study aimed to investigate the effect of grass maturity and legume forage on the faecal water-holding capacity (WHC) and microbial ecosystem, and the fluid balance and body weight (BW) of French trotters in race training.

Department of Neurology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD 21205, USA; Service of Genetic Medicine, University Hospitals of Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland; Department of Genetic Medicine and Development, University of Geneva Medical Faculty, Geneva 1211, Switzerland; Medigenome, Swiss Institute of Genomic Medicine, 1207 Geneva, Switzerland. Electronic address:

Telomere maintenance 2 (TELO2), Tel2 interacting protein 2 (TTI2), and Tel2 interacting protein 1 (TTI1) are the three components of the conserved Triple T (TTT) complex that modulates activity of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-related protein kinases (PIKKs), including mTOR, ATM, and ATR, by regulating the assembly of mTOR complex 1 (mTORC1). The TTT complex is essential for the expression, maturation, and stability of ATM and ATR in response to DNA damage. TELO2- and TTI2-related bi-allelic autosomal-recessive (AR) encephalopathies have been described in individuals with moderate to severe intellectual disability (ID), short stature, postnatal microcephaly, and a movement disorder (in the case of variants within TELO2).

Department of Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, Giza, 12211, Egypt.

In the post-genomic era, the data provided by complete genome sequencing could not answer several fundamental questions about the causes of many noninfectious diseases, diagnostic biomarkers, and novel therapeutic approaches. The rapidly expanding understanding of epigenetic mechanisms, as well as widespread acceptance of their hypothesized role in disease induction, facilitated the development of a number of novel diagnostic markers and therapeutic concepts. Epigenetic aberrations are reversible in nature, which enables the treatment of serious incurable diseases.
