Objectives: Evaluate health literacy in transplant patients to better tailor the content of their continuing therapeutic education.
Methods: A 20-item questionnaire divided into five themes (sport/recreation, dietary measures, hygiene measures, recognition of the signs of graft rejection and medication management) was sent to transplant patient associations. Participants' responses (a score out of 20 points), were analysed according to demographic characteristics, transplanted organ (kidney, liver or heart), type of donor (living or deceased), participation in a therapeutic patient education (TPE) programme, management of end-stage renal disease (with or without dialysis) and the date of transplant.

The palladium-catalyzed annulation reaction of alkynes enables an attractive approach to siloles. Their access from silirenes and terminal alkynes proved rather general, involving reactive intermediates that have remained elusive to date. Starting from 1,2-bis(3-thienyl)silirene as a source of photochromic siloles, the mechanism of the annulation reaction has been revisited, and palladasilacyclobutenes resulting from the activation of the silirene could be isolated and thoroughly characterized (NMR, X-ray, and DFT).

Ancient fluvial deposits typically display repetitive changes in their depositional architecture such as alternating intervals of coarse-grained highly amalgamated (HA), laterally-stacked, channel bodies, and finer-grained less amalgamated (LA), vertically-stacked, channels encased in floodplain deposits. Such patterns are usually ascribed to slower, respectively higher, rates of base level rise (accommodation). However, "upstream" factors such as water discharge and sediment flux also play a potential role in determining stratigraphic architecture, yet this possibility has never been tested despite the recent advances in the field of palaeohydraulic reconstructions from fluvial accumulations.

Recent breakthrough experiments revealed the iso-reticular Zr-MOFs, MIL-140B and MIL-140C, as promising sorbents for the separation of C6 isomers. Interestingly while the ultra-small pore MIL-140B exhibited hexane isomer sorption hierarchy according to the normal boiling point order (-C6 > 3MP (3-methyl pentane)), an uncommon shift in the elution order was observed in the larger pore MIL-140C. It was only speculated that the flexibility of the MOFs might be the origin of this intriguing behavior.

Background: Diagnostic value of 3,4-dihydroxy-6-[F]fluoro-L-phenylalanine ([F]FDOPA) PET in patients with suspected recurrent gliomas is recognised. We conducted a multicentre prospective study to assess its added value in the practical management of patients suspected of recurrence of high grade gliomas (HGG).
Methods: Patients with a proven HGG (WHO grade III and IV) were referred to the multidisciplinary neuro-oncology board (MNOB) during their follow-up after initial standard of care treatment and when MRI findings were not fully conclusive.

Background: With the development of next generation sequencing technologies in France, exome sequencing (ES) has recently emerged as an opportunity to improve the diagnosis rate of patients presenting an intellectual disability (ID). To help French policy makers determine an adequate tariff for ES, we aimed to assess the unit cost per ES diagnostic test for ID from the preparation of the pre-analytical step until the report writing step and to identify its main cost drivers.
Methods: A micro-costing bottom-up approach was conducted for the year 2018 in a French setting as part of the DISSEQ study, a cost-effectiveness study funded by the Ministry of Health and performed in collaboration with the GAD (Génétique des Anomalies du Développement), a genetic team from the Dijon University Hospital, and a public sequencing platform, the Centre National de Recherche en Génomique Humaine (CNRGH).

Understanding the role of the host genome in modulating microbiota variation is a need to shed light on the holobiont theory and overcome the current limits on the description of host-microbiota interactions at the genomic and molecular levels. However, the host genetic architecture structuring microbiota is only partly described in plants. In addition, most association genetic studies on microbiota are often carried out outside the native habitats where the host evolves and the identification of signatures of local adaptation on the candidate genes has been overlooked.

This study reports the results of the first artefactual field experiment designed to measure the prevalence of aversion toward different components of social risks in a large and demographically representative sample. We identify social risk preferences for health and wealth for losses and gains, and decompose these attitudes into four different dimensions: individual risk, collective risk, ex-post inequality, and ex-ante inequality. The results of a non-parametric analysis suggest that aversion to risk and inequality is the mean preference for outcomes in health and wealth in the domain of gains and losses.

Enantiopure helicenes have been extensively investigated due to their outstanding chiroptical properties, while helicene racemates are considered as chiroptically silent. Here, we describe a facile method to produce circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) from helicene racemates via supramolecular association with DNA in aqueous solution. Racemic cationic helicene derivatives are immobilized in the grooves of commercially available double-stranded right-handed DNA, and the discrimination of left- and right-handed helicenes by chiral DNA is monitored by single molecule force spectroscopy.

This article addresses educational challenges posed by the future of work, examining "21st century skills", their conception, assessment, and valorization. It focuses in particular on key soft skill competencies known as the "4Cs": creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. In a section on each C, we provide an overview of assessment at the level of individual performance, before focusing on the less common assessment of for the development of the 4Cs that can be measured at the institutional level (i.

By increasing plant diversity in agroecosystems, it has been proposed that one can enhance and stabilize ecosystem functioning by increasing natural enemies' diversity. Food web structure determines ecosystem functioning as species at different trophic levels are linked in interacting networks. We compared the food web structure and composition of the aphid- parasitoid and aphid-hyperparasitoid networks in two differentially managed plum orchards: plums with inter-rows of oats as a cover crop (OCC) and plums with inter-rows of spontaneous vegetation (SV).

Nanomaterials are present in a wide variety of health products, drugs and medical devices and their use is constantly increasing, varying in terms of diversity and quantity. The topic is vast because it covers nanodrugs, but also excipients (that includes varying proportions of NMs) and medical devices (with intended or not-intended (by-products of wear) nanoparticles). Although researchers in the field of nanomedicines in clinical research and industry push for clearer definitions and relevant regulations, the endeavor is challenging due to the enormous diversity of NMs in use and their specific properties.
