Visual perception has been described as a dynamic process where incoming visual information is combined with what has been seen before to form the current percept. Such a process can result in multiple visual aftereffects that can be attractive toward or repulsive away from past visual stimulation. A lot of research has been conducted on what functional role the mechanisms that produce these aftereffects may play.

Vitrification has revolutionized embryo cryopreservation, but represents a significant workload in the IVF lab. We evaluated here an ultrafast blastocyst warming procedure in order to improve workflow while maintaining clinical outcome. We first evaluated the expression of main markers of lineage specification in a subset of blastocysts donated to research warmed with ultrafast protocol.

We present a simple and inexpensive method for measuring weak cohesive interactions. This technique is applied to the specific case of oil droplets with a depletion interaction, dispersed in an aqueous solution. The experimental setup involves creating a short string of droplets while immobilizing a single droplet.

We present Enterocytozoon bieneusi infection in four patients with autoimmune diseases undergoing prolonged monoclonal antibody therapies. Two patients suffered from inflammatory bowel disease and received anti-TNF therapies, whereas two other patients suffered from systemic lupus erythematosus with renal involvement and received anti-CD20 or anti-BLyS protein therapies. Three out of four patients consulted for diarrhea with abdominal pain without intestinal inflammation or bleeding at the time of sampling.

Purpose Of Review: In low-grade glioma (LGG), besides the patient's neurological status and tumor characteristics on neuroimaging, current treatment guidelines mainly rely on the glioma's genetics at diagnosis to define therapeutic strategy, usually starting with surgical resection. However, this snapshot in time does not take into account the antecedent period of tumor progression and its interactions with the brain before presentation. This article reviews new concepts that pertain to reconstruct the history of previous interplay between the LGG's course and adaptive changes in the connectome within which the glioma is embedded over the years preceding the diagnosis.

A novel capulavirus was identified by high-throughput sequencing in four sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) plants collected in April 2023 in Normandy (France). The complete genome of 2744 nucleotides (nt) was sequenced and found to have an organization similar to that of known capulaviruses, with which it showed close phylogenetic relationships.

Background And Purpose: Degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) is the most common cause of spinal cord (SC) dysfunction. In routine clinical practice, SC changes are well depicted using conventional MRI, especially T2-weighted imaging. However, this modality usually fails to provide satisfactory clinico-radiological correlations.

Paediatric renal tumours include a broad range of neoplasms which largely differ, but also overlap to a smaller extent, with adult kidney cancer. These include the embryonal tumour nephroblastoma, which accounts for the majority of cases of kidney cancer in the first decade of life and, despite boasting a cure in ~ 90% cases, still presents clinical challenges in a small proportion of cases. A variety of less common mesenchymal tumours, including the mostly indolent congenital mesoblastic nephroma, clear cell sarcoma of kidney which continues to be associated with poor outcomes for higher stage disease, and the typically lethal malignant rhabdoid tumour, form the bulk of the remaining presentations in the first decade.

Purpose: Proximal femur megaprostheses (PFMPs) are used to manage large bone defects in both non-oncological indications (NOI) and oncological indications (OI). However, little is known about the comparative risks of reoperation and functional outcomes between these groups. This study aimed to evaluate the cumulative incidences of reoperation and functional results of PFMPs between NOI and OI.

Purpose: To evaluate if morphology and morphokinetics of cleaved embryos affect prenatal and perinatal outcomes.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 734 single fresh embryo transfer (SET) from ICSI from January 2014 to December 2020 at the Dijon University Hospital. Using time-lapse technology, embryos were defined as TOP or non-TOP according to morphological/morphokinetic criteria.

Background: The S147G mutation is associated with high-level resistance to the integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) elvitegravir. In several poorly documented cases, it was also selected in patients on dolutegravir. Given the widespread use of dolutegravir, further studies of S147G are required.

The creep behavior of an amorphous poly(etherimide) polymer is investigated in the vicinity of its glass transition in a weakly non linear regime where the acceleration of the creep response is driven by local configurational rearrangements. From the time shifts of the creep compliance curves under stresses from 1 to 15 MPa and in the temperature range between and , where is the glass transition temperature, we determine a macroscopic acceleration factor. The macroscopic acceleration is shown to vary as temperature with , where is the macroscopic stress and Y is a decreasing function of compliance.

Cerebellar functional and structural connectivity are likely related to motor function after stroke. Less is known about motor recovery, which is defined as a gain of function between two time points, and about the involvement of the cerebellum. Fifteen patients who were hospitalized between 2018 and 2020 for a first cerebral ischemic event with persistent upper limb deficits were assessed by resting-state functional MRI (rsfMRI) and clinical motor score measurements at 3, 9 and 15 weeks after stroke.

Managing an adult patient with aortic coarctation and associated anomalies presents a significant surgical challenge. We present a case of an adult male with aortic coarctation, pre-coarctation distal arch 7-cm aneurysm involving the origin of the left subclavian artery, and aberrant (lusoria) right subclavian artery. He was managed with one surgical approach, consisting of right carotid-subclavian bypass, exclusion of the right subclavian artery, proximal descending aortic replacement and reinsertion of left subclavian artery, using partial cardiopulmonary bypass.

Importance: Depression and antidepressant use are independently associated with crash risk among older drivers. However, it is unclear what factors impact daily driving that increase safety risk for drivers with depression.
Objective: To examine differences in naturalistic driving behavior and safety between older adults with and without major depressive disorder (MDD).

Patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) progressing after chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR T) have dismal outcomes. The prespecified post-CAR T expansion cohort of the ELM-1 study investigated the efficacy and safety of odronextamab, a CD20×CD3 bispecific antibody, in patients with disease progression after CAR T. Sixty patients received IV odronextamab weekly for 4 cycles followed by maintenance until progression.

B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) is a rare malignancy in adults with outcomes remaining poor, especially compared to children. Over the past two decades, extensive whole-genome studies have identified numerous genetic alterations driving leukemia, leading to the recognition of more than 20 distinct subtypes which are closely associated with treatment response and prognosis. In pediatric B-ALL, large correlation studies have made genetic classification a central component of risk-adapted treatment strategies.

Proteomics has become a powerful approach for the identification and characterization of type III effectors (T3Es). Members of the species complex (RSSC) deploy T3Es to manipulate host cells and to promote root infection of, among others, a wide range of solanaceous plants such as tomato, potato, and tobacco. Here, we used TurboID-mediated proximity labeling (PL) in tomato hairy root cultures to explore the proxeomes of the core RSSC T3Es RipU, RipD, and RipB.

Marine protected areas (MPAs) are widely implemented tools for long-term ocean conservation and resource management. Assessments of MPA performance have largely focused on specific ecosystems individually and have rarely evaluated performance across multiple ecosystems either in an individual MPA or across an MPA network. We evaluated the conservation performance of 59 MPAs in California's large MPA network, which encompasses 4 primary ecosystems (surf zone, kelp forest, shallow reef, deep reef) and 4 bioregions, and identified MPA attributes that best explain performance.
