Repeated minimal-invasive treatment is one of the key features and the current empirical standard treatment (ST) consists of at least three administrations over about three months. However, many patients are unable to complete the full course, limiting the potential benefits of PIPAC.

The evolution of these treatments is examined in light of clinical outcomes, patient quality of life, and emerging resistance mechanisms, such as the recently shown vitamin D-based strategies.

Oral implantology faces a multitude of technical challenges in light of current clinical experience, underlining the need for innovation in implantable medical devices in both mechanical and biological terms. This study explores the influence of the thickness factor of calcium-doped zirconia (Ca-SZ) coatings deposited by PVD on their intrinsic mechanical properties and the determinism of the latter on adhesion to the TA6V alloy substrate after mechanical loading for applications in dental implantology. Three separate thicknesses of 250 nm, 450 nm and 850 nm were evaluated in terms of mechanical strength, modulus of elasticity and adhesion to the substrate, in accordance with ISO 20502:2005.

Layer-Specific Strain Analysis in Patients with Dilated Cardiomyopathy.

Background/objectives: This study aimed to evaluate layer-specific strain according to etiology and assess whether subtle changes in longitudinal and circumferential layer strain are involved in predicting cardiac mortality during a two-year follow-up in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy admitted with heart failure decompensation.

Methods: 97 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy and a left ventricle ejection fraction ≤ 40% were recruited, 51 with ischemic and 46 with nonischemic etiologies. Conventional and two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) were conducted in dilated cardiomyopathy patients with a compensated phase of heart failure before discharge.

In a fast-evolving scenario where routine testing has become widespread in healthcare, this scoping review sought to pinpoint existing gaps in literacy and understanding among cancer patients and the general public regarding genetics and genomics.

Methods: Adhering to the PRISMA framework, the review included 43 studies published between January 2018 and June 2024, which evaluated the understanding of genetics and genomics among cancer patients, caregivers, and citizens.

Existing extraction methods are often inefficient, yielding low quantities of oleacein due to enzymatic degradation of its precursor, oleuropein, during conventional processing and storage.
