Introduction: Pulmonary airway dystrophy (PAD) is a rare disease that may be either innate or acquired. Very few publications have been dedicated to the repercussions of the air pressure variations that may be encountered during an airplane journey in a pressurized cabin, an aerial tramway ascent or a stay in a high-altitude setting. Variations may also occur during deep-sea diving with modification of absolute air pressure.

The 2030 French Innovation Healthcare national plan defined "Digital Healthcare" as one of its priority. The deployment of digital pathology and artificial intelligence fits perfectly into this framework. Therefore we evaluated the pathologist's interest in those fields by conducting an online survey among members of the French Society of Pathology, mainly composed of senior pathologists and trainees (n=2301).

Introduction: With the aging population comes an increase in the number of distal radial fractures and therefore in the number of cases requiring volar locking plate (VLP) fixation. The complication rates after VLP fixation vary greatly from one study to the next. Several authors have already focused on these complications and how to lower their rate.

While rare diseases are individually rare, they are collectively common. Physicians are likely to see patients presenting with rare diseases during their medical practice. Despite the fact that rare diseases present diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, they are not sufficiently addressed by undergraduate medical curricula.

Quality control procedures play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and consistency of data generated in mass spectrometry-based proteomics laboratories. However, the lack of standardized quality control practices across laboratories poses challenges for data comparability and reproducibility. In response, we conducted a harmonization study within proteomics laboratories of the Core for Life alliance with the aim of establishing a common quality control framework, which facilitates comprehensive quality assessment and identification of potential sources of performance drift.

Chitosan (CH)-based composite films have attracted increasing attention as promising green food packaging materials due to their biodegradability and ease of fabrication. Additionally, lignin (LN) has been widely used as additive for chitosan-based films to improve their physicochemical properties. In this study, a series of composite films made of chitosan nanoparticles (NCH) as a matrix and alkali lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) as functional filler were prepared.

Sudden unexpected deaths in infancy (SUDI) is defined as the unexpected death of an infant in the first year of life, including explained and unexplained death (SIDS). Risk factors, such as sleeping position and passive smoking, have been identified but few studies have addressed the influence of exposure to chemicals in the environment. Pesticides are ubiquitous but little is known about their impact on infant mortality.

Background: Acinetobacter baumannii, particularly carbapenem-resistant strains (CRAB), poses a major concern in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR), identified as a top-priority pathogen by the World Health Organization (WHO). A. baumannii has intrinsic resistance to several antibiotics, including penicillin, cephalosporins, chloramphenicol, and fosfomycin, but the development of AMR has led to the emergence of extremely drug-resistant and pan-resistant isolates.

Background: A unique form of Hemophilia B (HB) is HB Leyden. We evaluated the International PedNet Registry database to explore the natural history of HB Leyden, investigate genotype-phenotype associations and guide clinical decision-making.
Objectives: To assess the association between genetic variants, endogenous factor (FIX) levels over time, treatment and bleeding phenotype in children with HB Leyden.

Background: Bruton Tyrosine Kinase inhibitor (BTKi) emerged as key treatment for B-cell lymphomas. Despite its efficacy in the treatment of malignancies, numerous cases of invasive fungal infections (IFI) have been reported in patients receiving ibrutinib, a first generation BTKi. Cases of invasive aspergillosis have also been reported with acalabrutinib and zanubrutinib.

Study Objective: To study the inter-rater reliability of an electronic complementary uterine diagram (eAFS) in comparison to the conventional American Fertility Society intrauterine adhesions (IUA) scoring system (cAFS). As a secondary aim we wanted to assess the intra-rater reliability of these tools.
Design: This was an observational cross over study with a nested test re-test design.

Bisphenol A (BPA), a ubiquitous environmental endocrine disruptor, is suspected of disturbing brain development through largely unknown cellular and molecular mechanisms. In the central nervous system, oligodendrocytes are responsible for forming myelin sheaths, which enhance the propagation of action potentials along axons. Disruption of axon myelination can have lifelong consequences, making oligodendrocyte differentiation and myelination critical stages of brain development.

Obesity is a risk factor of developing type 2 diabetes (T2D) and metabolic complications, through systemic inflammation and insulin resistance. It has also been associated with increased bone marrow adipocytes along with increased bone fragility and fracture risk. However, the differential effects of obesity and T2D on bone fragility remain unclear.

Conventional in-situ hydrocarbon remediation technologies face challenges associated with high costs and low long-term efficacy. Aqueous foam injection presents a promising approach by enhancing volumetric sweeping efficiency. This study investigates the efficiency of polymer-enhanced foams (PEFs) for in-situ remediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated soil, focusing on the impact of Xanthan Gum (XG) biopolymer on foam stability against antifoaming diesel and the flow behavior in soil matrices.

Bioelectrochemically improved anaerobic digestion (AD-BES) represents an upgrading strategy for existing biogas plants, consisting of the integration of bioelectrodes within the AD reactor. For this study, a series of laboratory-scale AD-BES reactors were operated, valorising agricultural digestates through the production of biogas. The reactors were inoculated and started-up with three different digestates, leading to significant differences in the microbial community developed on the bioelectrodes.

Interpreting postmortem concentrations of 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) remains challenging due to the wide range of reported results and the potential idiosyncratic nature of MDMA toxicity. Consequently, forensic pathologists often rely on a body of evidence to establish conclusions regarding the cause and the manner of death in death involving MDMA. Given these issues, implementing pharmacogenetics' (PGx)' testing may be beneficial.

The exposure of the general population to artificial light at night has dramatically increased in recent decades. Current standards for domestic lighting are based on acute exposure to light and consider blue wavelengths to be responsible for phototoxicity. However, meta-analyses pointed out the role of lifelong light exposure in the onset of age-related macular degeneration, suggesting a cumulative effect of light exposure.

This study investigated the effects of microwave treatment combined with lysine and arginine on gluten-free quinoa sponge cakes. The results indicated that the addition of these amino acids during microwave treatment significantly increased the cakes' specific volume by 49 %. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that cake crystallinity reached 56.
