The optic canal (OC) transmits the optic nerve (ON) and ophthalmic artery (OA) from the skull base to the orbit. Its morphological variability is narrow, and most commonly its dimensions are being studied. We observed an unexpected variant during a routine investigation of our osteological collection.

While the effects of over-assistance on the diaphragm are well known, we aimed to assess the impact of under-assistance on diaphragm function and structure in piglet model with pre-existing VIDD (after long-term CMV) or without VIDD (short-term CMV).

Machine Learning to Predict Mortality in Older Patients With Cancer: Development and External Validation of the Geriatric Cancer Scoring System Using Two Large French Cohorts.

Assessing the contamination of paper and board (P&B) food packaging materials poses significant challenges due to the sensitivity limits of analytical methods and the low precision of sampling processes. This study aims to enhance the understanding of P&B food packaging contamination by investigating the distribution of contaminants at different scales using a combination of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. A total of 36 substances were targeted, including phthalates, photoinitiators, and bisphenol A.

The Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Impact Questionnaire (CF-IQ) was qualitatively developed to assess the impact of CF in the context of treatment advancements and increased longevity. This study reports the CF-IQ validation. In this noninterventional validation study, people with CF completed the 40-item CF-IQ and validating patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) via electronic diaries at enrollment (baseline) and at the 4-week follow-up.

Methods: This retrospective study of Ig-naïve patients with PID or SID newly receiving a SCIg between 2016 and 2018, extracted from the French National Healthcare reimbursement database (SNDS), analyzed the SCIg-related HCRU and reimbursed costs generated from in-hospital (hospitalizations and SCIg doses) or at-home (nurse visits [NV] and pump provider visits [PPV], drug doses) SCIg administration.

That PK/PD relationship, along with the population variability in drug exposure, is used to determine the probability of target attainment (PTA) of the PK/PD index at a specified minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for a selected target value. The PTA is used to identify the pharmacodynamic cutoff value (CO), which is one of the three components used to establish the clinical breakpoint.
