Background: Cyamemazine, a phenothiazine antipsychotic with anxiolytic and sedative properties, is commonly used in the management of severe mental disorders (SMDs) such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder. Despite its unique pharmacological profile, the impact of cyamemazine on clinical outcomes, treatment adherence, and quality of life (QoL) remains inadequately studied. This study addresses the significant gap in understanding the clinical impact of cyamemazine, a widely used yet under-researched antipsychotic.

Impact of insomnia: Cultural and societal aspects from a European survey.

Objectives: This European study explored the cultural and societal aspects of chronic insomnia by means of a survey undertaken in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The primary objectives were to understand the impact of insomnia on the daily lives of patients, both personally and professionally, and to evaluate the patients' perceptions and coping strategies thus identifying cultural differences in the management of this disorder.

Methods: Based on online panels targeting insomnia sufferers, the survey included 755 patients aged 35 to 65 years with moderate to severe insomnia for at least three months, occurring at least three times per week (DSM-5 criteria for insomnia disorder, ISI score 15-28).

During the vaccination surveillance program of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccines, reports of GBS as a possible adverse effect (AE) of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines have been reported. Our aim was to describe post-vaccine reports of GBS whatever the vaccine used.

Introduction: The increasing heavy and sustained use of nitrous oxide (NO) for recreational purposes in several countries is a growing public health issue, as it can cause neuropathy and other harms. Documenting recreational NO use prevalence and characteristics of people who use the drug in the general population is essential.

Methods: Between 2 March and 9 July 2022, we conducted a nationwide survey of a random sample of adults in France to estimate the prevalence of NO awareness and reported use.

Comparative analysis of lipid profiles and antioxidant potential of fruit oils from Tunisia and Canada: influence of extraction methods.

This study investigated the lipid profiles and free radical scavenging potential of fruit oils from Tunisia and Canada, utilizing three extraction methods: single screw, twin screw, and solvent extraction. Significant differences ( < 0.05) were found in the concentrations of essential fatty acids, including petroselinic, linoleic, oleic, and palmitic acids, between oils from the two regions.

Tomographic, cadaveric and clinical study of safe corridors for insertion of implants in the thoracolumbar spine of dogs and cats using a lateral approach.

Objectives: This study aimed to: describe a lateral vertebral corridor (T6-L7) for the implantation of screws and polymethylmethacrylate to treat thoracolumbar vertebral injuries; assess the feasibility and safety of this approach using computed tomography; assess the learning curve of this technique in canine cadavers; and assess the outcomes in injured dogs and cats in a retrospective clinical study.

Introduction: Klinefelter syndrome (KS) is a genetic condition characterised by the presence of an extra X chromosome in males (47,XXY). KS is associated with various phenotypic characteristics in adult life, including infertility, hypogonadism and increased risk of type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. Additionally, individuals with KS often experience mental health challenges and functional impairments that significantly impact their quality of life.

The aim of this study was to characterize the chemical properties of fucoidans isolated from two brown algae Dyctyopteris membranaceae and Padina pavonica and to evaluate their anti-inflammatory, gastroprotective, antioxidant and immunomodulatory activities. The characterization of fucoidans was investigated with colorimetric techniques and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

Importance of Tubulin Detyrosination in Platelet Biogenesis.

Background: The functional diversity of microtubules is regulated through the expression of distinct α- and β-tubulin isotypes together with several post-translational modifications, a concept known as tubulin code. While other phenomena can explain this disenchantment, our belief in the importance of promoting greater visibility of laboratory medicine in medical studies led us to examine for this article the images and symbols associated with the profession, based on a semiotic analysis.
