Introduction: While people with diabetes (PWD)'s experiences with their insulin delivery systems (IDS) are frequently reported in clinical trials, few real-world data exist on the subject. This study aimed to assess the real-world experience and satisfaction with IDS in PWD.
Methods: This cross-sectional survey of PWD treated with tubed or tubeless insulin pumps, hybrid closed loop (HCL) systems, or multiple daily injections (MDI) for at least 3 months ran from 4 to 16 May 2023.

Purpose: To assess the radiological outcomes and complications focusing on distal junctional failure (DJF) of adult spinal deformity patients who underwent thoracolumbar fixation with the use of offset sublaminar hooks (OSH) distally.
Methods: Retrospective review of a prospective, multicenter adult spinal deformity database (2 sites). Inclusion criteria were age of at least 18 years, presence of a spinal deformity with thoraco-lumbar instrumentation ending distally with OSH (pelvis excluded), with minimum 2 years of follow-up.

Objectives: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with heterogeneous clinical manifestations which significantly impacts the daily lives of patients. Herein, we aimed to (i) investigate patients' perspectives on and experience with SLE; (ii) identify meaningful aspects of health (MAHs) and concepts of interest (COIs) in SLE that could be evaluated using digital clinical measures (DCMs); and (iii) identify target DCMs for their assessment.
Methods: A mixed-methods, multistep approach was deployed for (i) exploring patients' experience with SLE through a social media listening study and focused group discussions with patients; (ii) mapping patients' experiences to define MAHs and identify COIs measurable using DCMs; (iii) selecting DCMs for the target COIs; and (iv) identifying types of wearable sensors for measuring COIs in the patients.

Epistaxis greatly affects patients with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). Although few systemic treatment exist, nintedanib, is a good candidate thanks to its anti-angiogenic activity. Our main objective was to evaluate the efficacy of oral nintedanib on epistaxis duration in HHT patients with moderate to severe epistaxis.

Background: Bipartite medial cuneiform bone (BMC) is located at the Lisfranc joint of the midfoot, and it represents a rare variant involving two separate ossification centers in the medial cuneiform bone. Although BMC is typically asymptomatic, it can become clinically relevant under conditions of trauma or chronic stress, affecting foot stability.
Case Report: The current imaging report describes a 48-year-old female presenting with chronic dorsal midfoot pain, worsened by extended standing and ambulation.

Purpose: Although total dietary protein intake has been associated with bladder cancer (BC) risk, the effect of the origin (plant or animal) and the substitutions remain to be understood. This study aimed to investigate the effect of total dietary protein, animal-based protein, plant-based protein, and their substitutions with each other on the risk of BC using a pooled analysis of 10 cohort studies.
Methods: The study was conducted within the "BLadder cancer Epidemiology and Nutritional Determinants" (BLEND) study, including 10 prospective cohort studies from several European countries, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Bone lesions of the appendicular skeleton can be caused by primary benign or malignant tumors, metastases, osteomyelitis, or pseudotumors. Conventional radiography plays a crucial role in the initial assessment of osseous lesions and should not be underestimated even in this era of modern complex and advanced imaging technologies. Combined with patient age, clinical symptoms and biology, and lesion features including location, solitary versus multiplicity, density, margin (transitional zone evaluated with Lodwick-Madewell grading score), and, if present, the type of periosteal reaction and matrix mineralization can narrow the differential diagnosis or offer a likely diagnosis.

To assess the accuracy of Kidney Stone Calculator(KSC), a software designed for surgical planning, in predicting the duration of lithotripsy during flexible ureteroscopy(FURS) when using the novel pulsed-Thulium: YAG(p-Tm: YAG) laser. From February to August 2023, a single-center prospective study was conducted, including patients with kidney or ureteral stones through non-contrast computed tomography(NCCT), who underwent FURS with p-Tm: YAG laser lithotripsy. KSC used three-dimensional segmentation of the stones from NCCT images, along with an interactive user interface for laser settings, to estimate the stone volume(SV) and the lithotripsy duration(LD).

Background: Several countries have either developed or are developing national induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) banks of cell lines derived from donors with HLA homozygous genotypes (two identical haplotypes) prevalent in their local populations to provide immune matched tissues and cells to support regenerative medicine therapies. This 'haplobank' approach relies on knowledge of the HLA genotypes of the population to identify the most beneficial haplotypes for patient coverage, and ultimately identify donors or cord blood units carrying two copies of the target haplotype.
Aims: A potentially more efficient alternative to a national bank approach is to assess the haplotypes required to provide global patient coverage and to produce a single, global haplobank.

The potential pathogenic role of disturbed Ca2+ homeostasis in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) remains a complex, unsettled issue. We used muscle fibers isolated from 3-mo-old DMDmdx rats to further investigate the case. Most DMDmdx fibers exhibited no sign of trophic or morphology distinction as compared with WT fibers and mitochondria and t-tubule membrane networks also showed no stringent discrepancy.

Although relatively rare, neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) represent the most common type of endobronchial tumors in pediatric patients. Their clinical presentation lacks specificity, often leading to delayed diagnosis due to limited clinical suspicion. Mainly classified as low-grade malignant tumors (grade 1), they typically demonstrate favorable outcomes following surgical removal.

Astringency in foods can significantly affect consumer acceptability. While sugar is known to reduce this sensation, the influence of cross-modal interactions between aroma and astringency remains underexplored. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of sugar and aroma compounds in modulating the perceived astringency of a tannin solution.

There is inconclusive evidence regarding the effect of PUFA intake on gastric cancer in diverse populations. We, therefore, aimed to determine the association between PUFA intake and risk of gastric cancer in a hospital-based case-control study comprising 1182 incident cases of gastric cancer and 2965 controls in Vietnam.

In this contribution, doping of oriented thin films is investigated for three PBTTT polymers bearing different side chains including linear alkyl ─(CH)─H, single ether ─(CH)─O─(CH)─H and alkyl-siloxane ─(CH)─(Si(CH)O)─Si(CH) A combination of transmission electron microscopy, polarized UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy and transport measurements helps uncover the essential role of the chemical nature of side chains on the efficacy of the doping and on the resulting thermoelectric performances in oriented PBTTT films. Siloxane side chains help to reach record alignment level of PBTTT with dichroic ratio beyond 50 for an optimized rubbing temperature but they impede effective doping of PBTTT crystals with FTCNNQ, resulting in very poor TE properties. By contrast, doping the amorphous phase of all three PBTTTs with magic blue (MB) results in excellent TE performances.
