Metribuzin, a widely used triazine herbicide, persists in agricultural soils and poses significant environmental pollution threats globally. The aim of this study was to investigate the biodegradation of metribuzin by actinobacterial strains in vitro at different environmental conditions. From an initial screen of 12 actinobacterial strains, four bacteria exhibited robust growth in the presence of the metribuzin as the sole carbon source at 50 mg/L concentration.

Application of actinobacteria has grown exponentially in recent years in sustainable agricultural. Most actinobacterial inoculants are tailored to function as either biocontrol agents or biofertilizers. Hence, there is the need to obtain and include multifunctional actinobacterial strains in inocula formulations.

In recent years, grid-connected multifunctional photovoltaic (PV) systems have proven to be highly efficient. This system integrates PV panels with a DC-DC boost converter (DC-DC-BC) and the electrical distribution grid (DEG). Linking the PV to the AC-DEG is accomplished through a three-level multifunctional voltage source inverter (MVSI).

Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) is the first-line method for the rapid identification of most cultured microorganisms. As for Streptomyces strains, MALDI-TOF MS identification is complicated by the characteristic incrustation of colonies in agar and the strong cell wall of Actinomycetes cells requiring the use of alternative protein extraction protocols. In this study, we developed a specific protocol to overcome these difficulties for the MALDI-TOF MS identification of Actinomycetes made on solid medium.

The environmental impacts of cement manufacturing are becoming a real-time issue that requires attention. This paper investigates the mechanical and physical properties of mortars with finely ground sand as a substitute for cement. The experimental program consisted of three silica sands with a Blaine Specific Surface (BSS) area of 459 m/kg, 497 m/kg, and 543 m/kg and four substitution ratios of 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%.

Context: The bandgap of metal monochalcogenides (MMCs) is a key property that governs their physical and chemical properties. Accurate measurement of the bandgap is essential for a range of applications, including optoelectronics and photovoltaics. However, many theoretical approximations fail to accurately calculate the bandgap for MMCs, making it difficult to obtain precise values.

This paper provides a detailed analysis of the output voltage/current tracking control of a PWM DCDC converter that has been modeled as a Markov jump system. In order to achieve that, a dynamic sensorless strategy is proposed to perform active disturbance rejection control. As a convex optimization problem, a novel reformulation of the problem is provided to compute optimal control.

COVID-19 booster vaccines have been adopted in almost all countries to enhance the immune response and combat the emergence of new variants. Algeria adopted this strategy in November 2021. This study was conducted to consider the self-reported side effects of COVID-19 booster vaccines by Algerians who were vaccinated with a booster dose of one of the approved inactivated-virus vaccines, such as BBIBP-CorV and CoronaVac, or one of the adenoviral-vector-based vaccines, such as Gam-COVID-Vac, AZD1222 and Ad26.

Background: Hesitancy towards COVID-19 vaccination and its rejection remains a major public health concern worldwide, especially in the Middle East and North African countries. The current study aimed to assess the intentions to get COVID-19 vaccines and its determinants among the general public in Algeria.
Methods: A self-administered online survey was distributed during August-September 2021 using a convenience-based sampling approach.

The elaboration of a general formalism on quantum spin entanglement in curved space-time is presented by a system of two particles described by wave packets moving in a gravitational field (GF). This formulation allows us to study different models in curved space-time. In this work, the non-commutative Reissner-Nordström model is considered.

Background: In humans, sex determination and differentiation is genetically controlled. Disorders of sex development (DSD) result in anomalies of the development of the external and internal genitalia. Variants in transcription factors such as SRY, NR5A1 and SOX9, can cause changes in gonadal development often associated with ambiguity of the external genitalia.

A dynamical epidemic model optimized using a genetic algorithm and a cross-validation method to overcome the overfitting problem is proposed. The cross-validation procedure is applied so that available data are split into a training subset used to fit the algorithm's parameters, and a smaller subset used for validation. This process is tested on Italy, Spain, Germany, and South Korea cases before being applied to Algeria.

The development of analytical chemistry is omnipresent in all fields, this leads to considerable consumption of organic solvents and hazardous reagents with an increase in the production of waste to be treated. In this work, we developed simple, fast, cost-effective and above all environmentally friendly methods for the analysis of Acetaminophen (ACT) and Ascorbic acid (ASC) in synthetic mixtures and pharmaceutical formulation, using UV spectroscopy. Four chemometric methods were studied, including PLS-1 with full-spectrum (Full-PLS) and PLS-1 using three variable selection methods, namely subset selection through a genetic algorithm (GA), uninformative variable elimination using iterative predictor weighting (IPW), and variable selection by sub-window permutation analysis (SwPA).

We report the occurrence of lung cancer in a six months old lamb of Ouled Djellal breed from Algeria. The main clinical sign was a considerable amount of whitish foamy fluid discharge from the nostrils when the animal head was lowered and the rear end was lifted. The post-mortem examination revealed the presence of enlarged, heavy and edematous lungs with diffuse or foci areas, reddish or white-gray in color.
