Authenticity of olive oil is a significant concern for producers, consumers, and policymakers. To help address this issue, a rapid, efficient, and accurate flow injection mass spectrometric (FIMS) fingerprinting approach, combined with SVM and PLS classification and regression models, was proposed for the identification and quantitative analysis of olive oil adulteration. Based on the comprehensive comparative analysis, SVM outperformed those of PLS-DA, achieving higher values for accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity, as well as positive predictive and negative predictive values, in identifying adulterated olive oil samples.

Two-dimensional (2D) nanospaces between van der Waals (vdW) gaps of layered materials provide an ideal microenvironment to create novel functionalities. Here, we explore a facile method for fabricating g-CN/2H-MoS superlattice-like heterostructures based on thermochemical intercalation and polymerization reactions of formamide within enlarged vdW gaps of 2H-MoS nanosheets without any transfer process.

Endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy (ERAT) is a novel and minimally invasive technological alternative for the management of acute or chronic appendicitis. Through endoscopic appendiceal intubation, obstructions such as appendiceal feces and parasites within the appendiceal lumen can be effectively eliminated, leading to patient recovery. Additionally, in cases where the orifices are swollen or complicated appendicitis is present, a stent may be inserted following appendiceal flushing.

Long-term prognosis of patients with gallbladder carcinoma after curative-intent resection based on changes in the ratio of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 to total bilirubin (CA19-9/TB): a multicenter retrospective cohort study.

Background: The prognostic value of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) is known to be affected by elevated bilirubin levels in patients with gallbladder carcinoma (GBC). The clinical significance of changes in the ratio of CA19-9 levels to total bilirubin (TB) levels in patients with GBC after curative-intent resection remains unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the prognostic value of changes in preoperative and postoperative CA19-9/TB ratio in these patients.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate transfer learning combined with various convolutional neural networks (TL-CNNs) in predicting isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 ( IDH1 ) status of grade II/III gliomas.

Methods: Grade II/III glioma patients diagnosed at the Tangdu Hospital (August 2009 to May 2017) were retrospectively enrolled, including 54 patients with IDH1 mutant and 56 patients with wild-type IDH1 . Convolutional neural networks, AlexNet, GoogLeNet, ResNet, and VGGNet were fine-tuned with T2-weighted imaging (T2WI), fluid attenuation inversion recovery (FLAIR), and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging (T1CE) images.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease with high incidence rate. Resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI), as a widely used method for studying neurodegenerative diseases, has not yet been combined with two important indicators, amplitude low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) and cerebral blood flow (CBF), for standardized analysis of PD.

Methods: In this study, we used seed-based d-mapping and permutation of subject images (SDM-PSI) software to investigate the changes in ALFF and CBF of PD patients.

Background And Objective: Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) has been regarded as a leading cause of premature death in patients with epilepsy (PWE). Although patients, relatives and caregivers have the right to be informed of SUDEP, neurologists prefer not to release the facts for fear of associated anxiety. In the study, a Chinese questionnaire survey was carried out to elucidate effect of SUDEP disclosure on anxiety in PWE and variables determining the anxiety of patients and provided suggestions for SUDEP disclosure.

Background: Oxidized lipids are essential bioactive lipid mediators generated during infection that regulate oxidative stress and the inflammatory response, but their signatures in patients with sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) are poorly understood. This study analyzed the oxidative lipidomics of plasma from patients with SA-AKI to reveal the underlying biomarkers and pathophysiological mechanisms involved in sepsis.

Materials: A total of 67 patients with SA-AKI and 20 age- and sex-matched healthy controls (HCs) participated in this prospective cohort study.

This study aimed to determine the incidence of TOLS and the independent predictors associated with TOLS after curative-intent resection in GBC patients.

In the present study, we focused on engineering miR-92a-1-5p into EVs and determining any therapeutic roles and mechanisms of the engineered EVs.

Distribution and survival outcomes of primary head and neck hematolymphoid neoplasms in older people: a population-based study.

Primary head and neck hematolymphoid neoplasms (PHNHLN) are defined as a series of hematolymphoid system-derived neoplasms which primarily emanate in head and neck region. Due to the rarity and absence of symptomatic specificity, PHNHLN is easily neglected. The objective of this study is to investigate demographics, pathological subtype distribution, anatomical location, survival outcomes and prognostic factors of PHNHLN among older patients aged ≥ 60.
