Introduction: Several studies have examined the risk factors for post-percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) refractures and developed many clinical prognostic models. However, no prior research exists using the Random Forest (RF) model, a favored tool for model development, to predict the occurrence of new vertebral compression fractures (NVCFs). Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the risk factors for the occurrence of post-PKP fractures, compare the predictive performance of logistic regression and RF models in forecasting post-PKP fractures, and visualize the logistic regression model.

Lactate and tumor cell-derived extracellular vesicles (TEVs) both contribute to tumor progression. However, it is still unclear whether lactate can accelerate tumor development by directly promoting TEV production. Here, we show that lactate decreases intracellular cAMP levels and subsequent PKA activation GPR81, which inhibits the PKA-induced ubiquitination of HIF-1α that causes degradation.

Acquired resistance to osimertinib is inevitable and heterogeneous despite its documented efficacy against EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Subsequent therapeutic options assume the dominant form of the resistance mechanism; however, the more rare oncogenic driver, NTRK1 fusion, has also reportedly conferred osimertinib resistance. Nevertheless, clear-cut options when NSCLCs are driven by EGFR mutation and the subsequent NTRK fusion are lacking.
