Cisplatin-based chemotherapy is dominated in several cancers; however, insufficient therapeutic outcomes and systemic toxicity hamper their clinical applications. Controlled release of cisplatin and reducing inactivation remains an urgent challenge to overcome. Herein, diselenide-bridged mesoporous organosilica nanoparticles (MON) coated with biomimetic cancer cell membrane were tailored for coordination responsive controlled cisplatin delivery and GSH depletion to strengthen Pt-based chemotherapy.

Objective: Although visceral pleural invasion (VPI) has already been incorporated into the TNM staging system, few studies have been conducted to evaluate the prognostic value of the extent of VPI for the survival of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Thus, we utilized the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to assess the correlation between the extent of VPI and survival in NSCLC.

Methods: We identified and incorporated the extent of VPI to build a prognostic nomogram in this study.

Background: It's necessary to investigate the serum β-trophin and endostatin (ES) level and its influencing factors in patients with newly diagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Methods: Newly diagnosed PCOS patients treated in our hospital were selected, and healthy women who took physical examination during the same period as healthy controls. We detected and compared the related serum indicators between two groups, Pearson correlation were conducted to identify the factors associated with β-trophin and ES, and the influencing factors of β-trophin and ES were analyzed by logistic regression.

Intervertebral Disc (IVD) is a moderately moving joint that provides load transfer and flexibility to the entire spine. Although healthy IVD can balance the turnover of slow-synthesis matrices, this balance is often disrupted that leading to the development of degenerative diseases. The pathogenesis and treatment mechanism of Intervertebral Disc Degeneration (IDD) has always been the focus of scientific research, but its pathogenesis is still unknown.

Article Synopsis
  • This study explored how the ratio of the second to fourth finger length (digit ratio) relates to muscular strength and the progression of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • 164 COPD patients were analyzed for factors like muscle function and digit ratios, revealing that the right-hand digit ratio was linked to muscle dysfunctions in both hands.
  • The findings suggest that a lower digit ratio might indicate a higher risk of muscle dysfunction and acute exacerbations in COPD patients, potentially aiding in identifying those at greater risk for complications.
