To explore CRT gene family members and their responses to low-temperature stress, bioinformatics methods were used to identify the CRT gene family in pepper. In this study, a total of 4 CRT gene family members were identified by screening. The genes were found to be located on different chromosomes, and phylogenetic tree and collinearity analyses were performed.

Advances in manufacturing and trade have reshaped global nitrogen deposition patterns, yet their dynamics and drivers remain unclear. Here, we compile a comprehensive global nitrogen deposition database spanning 1977-2021, aggregating 52,671 site-years of data from observation networks and published articles. This database show that global nitrogen deposition to land is 92.

Achieving a synergy of biocompatibility and extreme environmental adaptability with excellent mechanical property remains challenging in the development of synthetic materials. Herein, a "bottom-up" solution-interface-induced self-assembly strategy is adopted to develop a compressible, anti-fatigue, extreme environment adaptable, biocompatible, and recyclable organohydrogel composed of chitosan-lignosulfonate-gelatin by constructing noncovalent bonded conjoined network. The ethylene glycol/water solvent induced lignosulfonate nanoparticles function as bridge in chitosan/gelation network, forming multiple interfacial interactions that can effectively dissipate energy.

(Hetero)polyaryl amines are extensively prevalent in pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, and materials but the intricate and varied nature of their structures severely restricts their synthesis. Here, we present a selective multicomponent cycloaromatization of structurally and functionally diverse amine substrates for the general and modular synthesis of (hetero)polyaryl amines through copper(I)-catalysis. This strategy directly constructs a remarkable range of amino group-functionalized (hetero)polyaryl frameworks (194 examples), including naphthalene, binaphthalene, phenanthren, benzothiophene, dibenzothiophene, benzofuran, dibenzofuran, quinoline, isoquinoline, quinazoline, and others, which are challenging or impossible to obtain using alternative methods.

Soy proteins have good nutritional quality and exhibit a range of useful functional attributes, making them a viable option for replacing animal proteins in the development of more sustainable and eco-friendly plant-based food products. Nevertheless, soy proteins are prone to denaturation and/or aggregation under conditions they encounter in some food and beverage products (including certain pH, ionic, and thermal conditions), which adversely impact their functional performance. This problem can often be overcome by covalently (conjugation) or noncovalently (complexation) linking the soy proteins to polysaccharides or polyphenols, thereby expanding their application scope.

Arsenic (As) is a toxic metalloid widespread in the environment, and its exposure has been associated with a variety of adverse health outcomes. As exposure is demonstrated to cause nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and the underlying epigenetic mechanisms remain largely unknown. This study aimed to investigate the roles of histone modifications in low-level As exposure-induced NAFLD in rats.

Soil bacterial communities are critical for maintaining ecosystem functions, yet the impact of water level fluctuations on ecosystem multifunctionality (EMF) and the role of bacterial communities in the lake water-level-fluctuating zone (WLFZ) remain poorly understood. This study investigated how seasonal water level fluctuations influence EMF and their relationships with soil bacterial communities through a two-year field survey. We found that soil bacterial diversity was significantly positively correlated with EMF.

A revolutionary transformation in biomedical imaging is unfolding with the advent of aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens). These cutting-edge molecules not only overcome the limitations of traditional fluorescent probes but also improve the boundaries of high-contrast imaging. Unlike conventional fluorophores suffering from aggregation-caused quenching, AIEgens exhibit enhanced luminescence when aggregated, enabling superior imaging performance.

Methionine restriction (MR) linked to a plant-based diet has been shown to mitigate neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) through mechanisms that involve the gut microbiota. In this study, a 16-week MR diet (0.

How different stress responses by male and female plants are influenced by interactions with rhizosphere microbes remains unclear. In this study, we employed poplar as a dioecious model plant and quantified biotic associations between microorganisms to explore the relationship between microbial associations and plant adaptation. We propose a health index (HI) to comprehensively characterize the physiological characteristics and adaptive capacity of plants under stress.

Traditional photopolymerizations generally requires an initiator for initiating the polymerization while few cases have created degradable chemical bonds. Moreover, the migration instability and cytotoxicity of photo initiators are posing issues to human health and the environment. In this work, we discovered an initiator-free photo polycondensation system (IFPPC) between polymercaptans and aldehyde monomers, producing high strength plastic materials with exchangeable and degradable dithioacetal groups.

Based on the concept "Derived from Agroforestry, belong to (Servicing) Agroforestry", we herein achieved the tandem catalytic transformation of lignin to phenolic aryl acrylic esters, which can work as plant growth regulators. The transformation involves the first catalytic oxidative fractionation (COF) of lignin into aromatic aldehydes, which can further undergo Knoevenagel condensation with acids/esters with active Cα-H to generate the phenolic aryl acrylic esters. For the first lignin transformation, the Cu salt (CuSO4) in a 7.

Dysfunction in the SHP1 enzyme can cause cancers and many diseases, so it is of great significance to develop novel small molecule SHP1 inhibitors. Through continuous monitoring of metabolic and targeted processes of SHP1 inhibitors in real-time, we can evaluate the effectiveness and toxicity of the inhibitors, further optimize drug design, and explore SHP1 biology. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a promising platform for heterogeneous photocatalysis due to their stability and design diversity, but their potential is often restricted by unmanageable targeted excitation and charge transfer. Herein, a bimetallic COF integrating photosensitizers and catalytic sites is designed to facilitate locally ultrafast charge transfer, aiming to improve the photocatalytic reduction of CO. The strategy uses a "one-pot" method to synthesize the bimetallic COF (termed PBCOF) through in situ Schiff-base condensation of Pyrene with MBpy (M = Ru, Re) units.

Alpine wet meadows are known as NO sinks due to nitrogen (N) limitation. However, phosphate addition and N deposition can modulate this limitation, and little is known about their combinative effects on NO emission from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in wet meadows. This study used natural wet meadow as the control treatment (CK) and conducted experiments with N (CONH addition, N15), P (NaHPO addition, P15), and their combinations (CONH and NaHPO addition, N15P15) to investigate how N and P supplementation affected soil NO emissions in wet meadow of QTP.

To prevent H9N2 avian influenza virus (AIV) and Avian metapneumonovirus/C (aMPV/C) infections, we constructed recombinant aMPV/C viruses expressing the HA protein of H9N2 AIV. In addition, EGFP was inserted into the intermediate non-coding region of P-M protein in the aMPV/C genome using a reverse genetic system. The conditions for rescuing the recombinant virus were enhanced followed by insertion of the H9N2 AIV HA gene into the same location in the aMPV/C.
