Background: Ample evidence demonstrates Latina adolescents' elevated risk for sexual health disparities, but knowledge of how they manage their sexual health during this critical period of sexual development is limited. Countering the overfocus on Latina adolescents as "at-risk" girls in extant research, this study uses a strengths-based perspective to explore this topic.

Early detection and prevention of psychosis has become an international priority. Much of this work has focused on youth presenting with attenuated symptoms of psychosis-those at Clinical High Risk for psychosis (CHR)-given their elevated probability of developing the full disorder in subsequent years. Individuals at CHR may be prone to exacerbated psychological distress during the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent physical isolation measures, due to heightened stress sensitivity and comorbid mental health problems.

Turnover in community mental health clinics threaten the delivery of quality behavioral health services; recovery orientation has been shown to be associated with lower levels of burnout but its relationship with actual turnover has not yet been examined. This study aimed to examine the relationship between provider perceptions of recovery orientation and 12-month turnover status among community mental health providers. The seminal Consensus Study by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine released in September 2019 describes the benefits of integrating health and social care service delivery, underscoring the central role of social determinants of health (SDOH) in health outcomes. Although the report's focus on the integration of health and social care contributes a much needed perspective to the national discourse on SDOH and offers a useful framework for organizing service delivery activities, the omission of prevention and health promotion throughout the report is a substantial limitation.We call for increased attention to and investment in prevention and health promotion in the proposed 5As framework.

Using the 2010 China Family Panel Studies data, this article provides new evidence on the gender gap and the role of education in time use among married Chinese couples in both urban and rural areas. Across urban and rural areas and on both work and non-work days, wives spent much more time on personal and household care, while husbands spent more time on work and leisure/social activities. For urban wives, having the same or higher levels of education than their husbands helped narrow the gender gap in time spent on personal and household care, paid work, and leisure/social activities.

Contemporary racism in the United States contributes to health, mental health, and substance use disorder (SUD) disparities among People of Color (POC) compared with White individuals. Despite entering into substance use treatment with a greater severity of SUD and related consequences, POC experience more barriers to treatment engagement, completion, and satisfaction than their White counterparts. As substance use treatment counselors are socialized within institutions of systemic racism, it is important to examine their positioning on racism in relation to their capacity for culturally competent care.

A variety of universal school-based social and emotional learning (SEL) programs have been designed in the past decades to help children improve social-emotional and academic skills. Evidence on the effectiveness of SEL programs has been mixed in the literature. Using data from a longitudinal follow-up study of children (n = 414) originally enrolled in a clustered randomized controlled trial (RCT) when they were in Head Start, we examined whether universal SEL services in third grade were associated with the development of children from disadvantaged families.

Building Agency Capacity for Trauma-Informed Evidence-Based Practice and Field Instruction.

Through this article the authors describe how schools of social work offering a child and adolescent trauma specialization actively partnered with their community-based field placement agencies to achieve a dual purpose: help agencies sustain the capacity for evidence-based trauma treatment (EBTT) and provide sufficient EBTT MSW student field placement sites that support preparation of trauma-informed practitioners by schools of social work. Development and description of the specific conceptual framework used to inform the trauma-informed organizational change initiative is described. Results of an Organizational Readiness assessment undertaken at six agencies reflect a strong alignment between implementation drivers identified in the literature (Fixsen, Blase, Naoom, & Wallace, 2009) and the conceptual framework.
