Purposeof The Review: In this review article, we aim to provide an overview of the pathophysiology, the clinical features, the therapeutic management and prognosis of patients affected by Multisystemic inflammatory syndrome (MIS) with cardiac involvement, focusing on myocarditis and pericarditis.

Recent Findings: MIS is a multiorgan hyperinflammatory condition due to a cytokine storm following (within 4-12 weeks) SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2) infection. First described in children, it also affects young adults without comorbidities, predominantly males with highly heterogeneous clinical manifestations, including cardiac involvement.

Fertility-sparing treatment (FST) has become a key aspect of managing gynecologic cancers in reproductive-age patients who wish to preserve fertility. Several leading clinical societies, including the European Society of Gynecological Oncology, the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology, the European Society of Pathology, and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, have recently published evidence-based guidelines on fertility-sparing strategies and posttreatment surveillance of patients with early-stage gynecologic cancers, in particular endometrial and cervical cancers. Periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis, and cervical adenitis syndrome, often referred to as PFAPA syndrome, may enigmatically recur for an undetermined time in affected children: a potential reason to explain its recurring pattern for an unpredictable period or its self-limitation is currently unknown. Thyroid function plays a seminal role in the growth and development of children, and alterations in signaling pathways which interfere with the biosynthesis, transport, and metabolism of thyroid hormones might impact on the skin of such patients: this review explores the relationship between different thyroid disorders and dermatological manifestations with a particular focus on the pediatric population. Common cutaneous conditions associated with thyroid dysfunction may include chronic urticaria, vitiligo, and alopecia, which can be early harbingers of an underlying endocrine disruption. This review also highlights the growing cognizance of a "thyroid-skin axis", with thyroid hormones influencing many physiologic processes within the skin such as keratinocyte proliferation, hair growth, and epidermal differentiation.

Background/objectives: Anti-MAG polyneuropathy is a demyelinating peripheral neuropathy associated with IgM monoclonal gammopathies, particularly MGUS (monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance) and Waldenström macroglobulinemia. It is characterized by a subacute onset of distal sensory symptoms, with distal motor dysfunction typically appearing only in the later stages of the disease. Connexin-43 (Cx43) is the most characterized gap junction protein, primarily involved in the Gap Junctional Intercellular Communication (GJIC) between adjacent cells to facilitate molecule exchange and the formation of a signaling network. It is increasingly evident that the importance of Cx43 is not only limited to its GJIC function, but rather includes its role in connecting the intracellular and extracellular environment by forming membrane hemichannels, as well as its intracellular signaling function mediated by its C-terminal tail (Cx43-CT). Notably, Cx43 has been implicated in a variety of cancers, with earlier notions suggesting a tumor-suppressor function, whereas new studies shed light on its pro-tumorigenic role.

Oxidative stress has been described as one of the main drivers of intracellular damage and metabolic disorders leading to metabolic syndrome, a major health problem worldwide. In particular, free radicals alter lipid metabolism and promote lipid accumulation in the liver, existing in the hepatic facet of metabolic syndrome, the metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Recent literature has highlighted how nicotine, especially if associated with a high-fat diet, exerts a negative effect on the induction and progression of MASLD by upregulating inflammation and increasing oxidative stress, abdominal fat lipolysis, and hepatic lipogenesis.

Objective: Therapeutic interventions for epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) have increased greatly over the last decade but improvements outside of biomarker selected therapies have been limited. There remains a pressing need for more effective treatment options that can prolong survival and enhance the quality of life of patients with EOC.
