Background: Assessments of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) play an important role in transition to palliative care for women with metastatic breast cancer. We developed machine learning (ML) algorithms to analyse longitudinal HRQoL data and identify patients who may benefit from palliative care due to disease progression.
Methods: We recruited patients from two institutions and administered the EuroQoL Visual Analog Scale (EQ-VAS) via an online platform over a 6-month period.

Radical cystectomy (RC) with urinary diversion (UD) is still the standard treatment method for muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Type of UD is determined according to some characteristics of the patient and the tumor. Even in the most experienced hands, alternative scenarios may require an alternative diversion, including emergency UD for complications requiring immediate take down of the initial UD, tumor recurrence impacting the urinary tract or the UD, progressive impairment of renal function (in patients with a continent UD), malfunction/complications of the initial UD, and patient dislike of a stoma.

Objective: To report the results of surgical correction achieved by intraoperative halo-femoral traction and posterior only pedicle screw instrumentation in severe scoliosis (scoliosis greater than 100 degrees ).
Summary Of Background Data: Although previous reports show the effectiveness of preoperative halo traction in the treatment of severe spinal deformity, the intraoperative use of halo-femoral traction in conjunction with posterior pedicle screw instrumentation has never been reported in patients with severe spinal deformity.

The metal-related complications caused by orthopedic implants have long been a concern, but these problems have been considered mostly in the field of arthroplasty or internal fixation of fractures. The recent prevalence of spinal instrumentation has evoked a similar concern among spine surgeons. Here, we present a case of intraspinal metallosis adjacent to the pedicular hook occurring after treatment of vertebral fracture by posterior spinal instrumentation and fusion, and causing paraparesis at the 3rd postoperative year.
