Background: There are limited data on the physical effects of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for prostate cancer (PC), and on the relationships of such measures of adiposity and strength to cardiovascular outcomes.
Objectives: The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the relationships of measures of adiposity and strength to cardiovascular outcomes (cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, stroke, heart failure, arterial revascularization, peripheral arterial disease, and venous thromboembolism) in patients with PC. A secondary objective was to characterize the relationships between ADT use and 12-month changes in these physical measures.

Summary: We describe and characterise the case of a 26-year-old female undergoing surgery for a right-sided sinonasal alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma who developed profound, transient arginine vasopressin deficiency (AVP-D, formerly central diabetes insipidus (DI)) associated with anaesthesia. In this case report, we characterise the development of AVP-D with serial copeptin and paired urine and serum osmolality measurements. Based on the anaesthetic agent's profile and the literature, we attribute this presentation to propofol exposure.

Background And Purpose: Given the accepted multistep process of disease causation in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the present study was undertaken to determine the number of steps required for disease onset across each of the ALS phenotypes.
Methods: Clinical and demographic data were prospectively accumulated using the Australian Motor Neurone Disease Registry (2005-2016), and age-specific incidence rates were calculated. Poisson regression was utilized to assess the relationship between log age-specific incidence and log age of onset, with McFadden's R used to assess the goodness of fit of the model.

Background: Blended therapy (BT) combines digital with face-to-face psychological interventions. BT may improve access to treatment, therapy uptake, and adherence. However, research is scarce on the structure of BT models.

Background: Diagnosing drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) can be challenging.
Objectives: We sought to identify clinical and laboratory features outside of the Registry of Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reaction (RegiSCAR) criteria that distinguish patients with probable DRESS (RegiSCAR ≥ 4) from those with drug rash and eosinophilia (DRE).
Methods: Using international coding classifications of drug-induced fever, generalized skin eruption due to medications, and eosinophilia, a retrospective audit from 2008 to 2023 of hospitalized patients was performed.

Aim: To explore the stakeholders' perspectives and develop a conceptual framework for promotion strategies to implement the iSupport-based intervention for family caregivers of people with dementia.
Design: A descriptive qualitative design was adopted.
Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 49 stakeholders of people with dementia from July to December 2023.

Purpose: To review the evidence on the effectiveness of dietary supplementation for retinitis pigmentosa (RP).
Methods: A literature search of the PubMed database was last conducted in January 2024 to identify published English-language original research on dietary supplementation for RP. Eligible compounds included products ingested orally containing nutrients intended to supplement the diet.

Purpose: To assess the safety and efficacy of the multiple therapeutic modalities for the treatment of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR).
Methods: A literature search of English-language studies in the PubMed database with no date restrictions was last conducted in May 2024. The combined searches yielded 612 citations, 31 of which were selected for full-text review and for inclusion in this assessment.

Background: Forward prediction of atrial fibrillation (AF) termination is a challenging technical problem of increasing significance due to rising AF presentations to emergency departments worldwide. The ability to non-invasively predict which AF episodes will terminate has important implications in terms of clinical decision-making surrounding treatment and admission, with subsequent impacts on hospital capacity and the economic cost of AF hospitalizations.
Methods And Results: MEDLINE, EMCare, CINAHL, CENTRAL, and SCOPUS were searched on 29 July 2023 for articles where an attempt to predict AF termination was made using standard surface ECG recordings.

Objective: To identify current practice and preferences about whether and how to acknowledge authors' lived experience when authors contribute their lived experience expertise to research outputs in the context of health and healthcare.
Methods: Surveys to people with lived experience and to academic researchers who had conducted research together (via consultation, partnership or lived-experience-led).
Results: Responses from 40 academic researchers and 36 lived experience contributors were included.

Fundoplication is a durable, effective, and well-accepted treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease. Nonetheless, troublesome postoperative symptoms do occasionally occur with management varying widely among centers. In an attempt to standardize definition and management of postfundoplication symptoms, a panel of international experts convened by the Guidelines Committee of the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus devised a list of 33 statements across 5 domains through a Delphi approach, with at least 80% agreement to establish consensus.

Multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens like vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VREfm) are a critical threat to human health. Daptomycin is a last-resort antibiotic for VREfm infections with a novel mode of action, but for which resistance has been widely reported but is unexplained. Here we show that rifaximin, an unrelated antibiotic used prophylactically to prevent hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver disease, causes cross-resistance to daptomycin in VREfm.

After an introduction to CPT and the randomized controlled trials that have been conducted, the effects of CPT on comorbid conditions are reviewed, as well as new combination treatments. Cognitive mediators of change are described.

Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is often accompanied by comorbidities. Not only cardiovascular but also non-cardiovascular comorbidities have been associated with AF. Multimorbidity is therefore a common finding in patients with AF, especially in elderly patients.

Background: It is well established that there is a substantial genetic component to eating disorders (EDs). Polygenic risk scores (PRSs) can be used to quantify cumulative genetic risk for a trait at an individual level. Recent studies suggest PRSs for anorexia nervosa (AN) may also predict risk for other disordered eating behaviors, but no study has examined if PRS for AN can predict disordered eating as a global continuous measure.

Introduction: Mobile health (mHealth) interventions have shown potential to improve maternal and child health outcomes in Africa, but their effectiveness depends on specific interventions, context, and implementation quality. Challenges such as limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and sustainability need to be addressed. Further evaluation studies are essential to summarize the impact of mHealth interventions.
