Background: Arecae Semen is a traditional herbal medicine widely used in the medical service and food industry, but in recent years, the carcinogenesis of edible Arecae Semen chewing has aroused comprehensive attention, therefore it is necessary to evaluate its medicinal properties. Increasing evidence has shown that Arecae Semen Compounds (ASC) possess antidepressant ability. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ASC in the treatment of depression.

Analysis of Diabetes Disease Risk Prediction and Diabetes Medication Pattern Based on Data Mining.

Diabetes mellitus is the second most common disease after cardiovascular diseases and malignant tumors. With the continuous acceleration of people's living standards and life rhythm, the number of diabetic patients is rapidly increasing and showing a trend of youthfulness. A recent study found that 114 million adults in China have diabetes and have a high prevalence rate, but the awareness rate, treatment rate, and compliance rate are low.

Efficacy and safety of sitagliptin and insulin for latent autoimmune diabetes in adults: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Aims/introduction: The optimal therapy for latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA) remains undefined. Increasing evidence has shown that sitagliptin and insulin treatment can benefit patients with LADA, but the efficacy still lacks systematic evaluation. We carried out this systematic review and meta-analysis to summarize the current data on the efficacy and safety of sitagliptin combined with insulin on LADA, providing a reliable reference for the effective therapeutic treatment of LADA patients.

Acupuncture for diabetic peripheral neuropathy: An overview of systematic reviews.

Background: Acupuncture has been widely used to treat diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) in China as a complementary and alternative therapy. This study aims to summarize the characteristics and evaluate the methodology quality of the systematic reviews (SRs) regarding acupuncture for DPN.

Methods: A comprehensive literature search was performed from inception to February 2020.

Background: Cholangiocarcinoma refers to an epithelial cell malignancy with poor prognosis. Yinchenhao decoction (YCHD) showed positive effects on cancers, and associations between YCHD and cholangiocarcinoma remain unclear. This study aimed to screen out the effective active components of Yinchenhao decoction (YCHD) using network pharmacology, estimate their potential targets, screen out the pathways, as well as delve into the potential mechanisms on treating cholangiocarcinoma.

[Semen-derived enhancer of viral infection--a key factor in sexual transmission of HIV].

Semen-derived enhancer of viral infection(SEVI) is a peptide fragment (PAP248-286) from prostatic acid phosphatase(PAP), which can enhance human immunodeficiency virus infection. The mechanisms of SEVI include: (1) SEVI with several cationic amino acid residues reduced electrostatic repulsion between HIV virus and the target cells; (2) The disorder state of SEVI in the human body fluids was helpful to the interaction between virus and the target cell membranes; (3) SEVI could capture HIV particles directly and speed the velocity of virus on the surface of the target cells and improve adsorption and fusion. Currently, the substances of inhibiting SEVI activity include: EGCG from green tea, small molecule compound of aminoquinoline Surfen, ThT analogs BTA-EG6.
