Background: Neuronal structure is disrupted after spinal cord injury (SCI), causing functional impairment. The effectiveness of exercise therapy (ET) in clinical settings for nerve remodeling post-SCI and its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to explore the effects and related mechanisms of ET on nerve remodeling in SCI rats.

Immobilizing enzymes onto solid supports having enhanced catalytic activity and resistance to harsh external conditions is considered as a promising and critical method of broadening enzymatic applications in biosensing, biocatalysis, and biomedical devices; however, it is considerably hampered by limited strategies. Here, a core-shell strategy involving a soft-core hexahistidine metal assembly (HmA) is innovatively developed and characterized with encapsulated enzymes (catalase (CAT), horseradish peroxidase, glucose oxidase (GOx), and cascade enzymes (CAT+GOx)) and hard porous shells (zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF), ZIF-8, ZIF-67, ZIF-90, calcium carbonate, and hydroxyapatite). The enzyme-friendly environment provided by the embedded HmA proves beneficial for enhanced catalytic activity, which is particularly effective in preserving fragile enzymes that will have been deactivated without the HmA core during the mineralization of porous shells.

Background: Although F-prostate-specific membrane antigen-1007 (F-PSMA-1007) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) are good predictors of prostate cancer (PCa) prognosis, their combined ability to predict prostate-specific antigen (PSA) persistence has not been thoroughly evaluated. In this study, we assessed whether clinical, mpMRI, and F-PSMA-1007 PET/CT characteristics could predict PSA persistence in patients with PCa treated with radical prostatectomy (RP).
Methods: This retrospective study involved consecutive patients diagnosed with PCa who underwent both preoperative mpMRI and PSMA PET/CT scans between April 2019 and June 2022.

Background: The association of genetic single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) related to endothelial function, inflammation, and their outcomes remains poorly studied.
Objectives: To evaluate the occurrence of ischemic stroke (IS) and other vascular events, and relationships between 19 SNPs in genes associated with endothelial function and inflammation with outcomes in a population at high risk of stroke.
Design: A prospective cohort study and multi-center community-based sectional survey.

Background: Pregnancy gingivitis is a common oral health issue that affects both maternal and fetal health. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of periodontal treatment in preventing pregnancy gingivitis, preterm birth, and low birth weight through a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted following PRISMA guidelines.

Unlabelled: Neuroblastoma, " a malignancy originating from neural crest cells, is most commonly diagnosed in children and adolescents. Polymorphisms within the long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) HOXA distal transcript antisense RNA (HOTTIP) are believed to have the capacity to alter an individual's susceptibility to various cancers. This study aimed to investigate the link between HOTTIP gene polymorphisms and neuroblastoma susceptibility.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a widespread and deadly form of cancer. Prostaglandin 15-deoxy-Δ-12,14-prostaglandin J2 (15d-PGJ2) possesses antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. However, it is unclear whether this effect on LUAD progression stems from its ability to influence macrophage polarization.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a prevalent chronic disease, characterized by the destruction of joint cartilage and synovitis, affects over 7 % of people worldwide. Disease-modifying treatments for OA still face significant challenges. Chondrocytes, as the exclusive cellular component of articular cartilage, play a pivotal role in synthesizing the intricate matrix of cartilage, thereby assuming a critical responsibility in facilitating its renewal and repair processes.

Neuronal radial migration is a fundamental process for cortical development, the disruption of which causes neurological and psychiatric dysfunctions. SLIT2 plays diverse functions in brain development and is a well-known axon guidance molecule. In this study, we investigated the radial migration of projection neurons in the developing cerebral cortex by knockdown (KD) of in mice.

Granulocytic sarcoma (GS), also known as extramedullary myeloid tumor, is a rare malignant neoplasm composed of immature myeloid cells. Although it is most commonly associated with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a subset of GS cases can occur prior to the development of AML. GS can present in a variety of extramedullary locations, including bone, skin, lymph nodes, and the female reproductive system.

Objective: This study sought to examine the effect of the appendicular skeletal muscle index (ASMI) and trunk muscle index (TMI) on the likelihood of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) among female adults.
Methods: This investigation utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2001 to 2006 and 2011-2018. To evaluate the impact of ASMI and TMI on the likelihood of SUI, the study utilized restricted cubic splines (RCS) and weighted multivariable logistic regression models.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a common neurodegenerative disease characterized by amyloid-β (Aβ) deposition and neurofibrillary tangles formed by high phosphorylation of tau protein. At present, drug therapy is the main strategy of AD treatment, but its effects are limited to delaying or alleviating AD. Recently, non-pharmacologic intervention has attracted more attention, and more studies have confirmed that non-pharmacologic intervention in AD can improve the patient's cognitive function and quality of life.

Background: Patients with an indication for a cardiovascular implantable electronic device (CIED) are complicated with special cardiomyopathy or other unspecified cardiac abnormalities and may need endomyocardial biopsy (EMB). However, EMB by a bioptome is usually avoided to reduce the risk of lead displacement in the CIED periprocedural period.
Objective: We aimed to assess the safety and feasibility of a novel approach for transvenous right ventricular (RV) EMB using the lead sheath method (L-S-M) during CIED implantation and compared it with the traditional bioptome method (T-B-M).
