Background: Postauricular steroid administration has been popular for treating sudden sensorineural hearing loss. However, there are few reports on its use in patients with refractory sudden sensorineural hearing loss (RSSNHL).

Aims: The objective of this study was to investigate the therapeutic efficacy of postauricular steroid injection as a salvage treatment for RSSNHL patients.

Increasing evidence has indicated that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in the progression of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). Here, we aimed to disclose the role of MNX1-AS1 in LSCC progression, and explore whether MNX1-AS1 participates in LSCC progression via targeting miR-744-5p to active BCL9/β-catenin signaling. Sixty-five human LSCC tissues and the paracancerous normal tissues were recruited to determine the levels of MNX1-AS1, miR-744-5p and BCL9 using qRT-PCR.

[Effect of double plate technique combined with autogenous iliac bone graft in the treatment of femoral nonunion after intramedullary nailing].

Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of double plate combined with iliac bone graft in the treatment of femoral nonunion after intramedullary nailing.

Methods: From December 2008 to December 2017, double plate combined with autogenous iliac bone graft was used to treat femoral nonunion after intramedullary nailing. There were 11 cases, including 10 males and 1 female, aged 35 to 62 years, and the time from fracture to nonunion was 12 to 20 months.

Under aging or other pathological stimuli, BM-MSCs will preferentially differentiate into marrow adipocytes and reduce osteoblasts, leading to osteoporosis. Long non-coding RNA differentiation antagonizing non-protein coding RNA (DANCR) participates in the osteogenic differentiation of human BM-MSCs, but the mechanism by which DANCR regulates the osteogenic differentiation of human BM-MSCs has not been fully explained.

Mitochondrial encephalomyopathies are disorders caused by mitochondrial and nuclear DNA mutations which affect the nervous and muscular systems. Current therapies for mitochondrial encephalomyopathies are inadequate and mostly palliative. Methods: One hundred and eight SICH patients diagnosed by CT from January 2014 to December 2019 in the First People's Hospital of Huzhou were selected as the research objects. MRS and DWI examinations were performed on day 2 after admission.

Ultrasonography-assisted flexible ureteroscope for the treatment of parapelvic renal cysts: A comparison between the 1470-nm diode laser and the holmium laser.

The present study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of a flexible ureteroscopic holmium laser incision with flexible ureteroscopic 1470-nm diode laser incision for the treatment of parapelvic renal cysts. The current study collected and analysing the clinical data of 90 independent renal cysts cases retrospectively, including 43 renal cysts cases that received holmium laser surgery (holmium laser group) and 47 renal cysts cases that received 1470-nm diode laser surgery (1470-nm diode laser group). Each group was divided into a thin-walled cyst subgroup and thick-walled cyst subgroup according to cyst wall thickness.

The current study aims to highlight the challenges of consultation mode for severe trauma in general hospitals and emphasizes the need to create a new temporary-sustainable team. It suggests developing an information consultation mode and enforcing the fine management to improve the quality and safety of the medical treatment.

Alterations of the Human Gut Microbiome in Chronic Kidney Disease.

Gut microbiota make up the largest microecosystem in the human body and are closely related to chronic metabolic diseases. Herein, 520 fecal samples are collected from different regions of China, the gut microbiome in chronic kidney disease (CKD) is characterized, and CKD classifiers based on microbial markers are constructed. Compared with healthy controls (HC, = 210), gut microbial diversity is significantly decreased in CKD ( = 110), and the microbial community is remarkably distinguished from HC.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of 21 patients with stiff knee joint after a femoral fracture treated by modified Judet quadricepsplasty combined with patella traction designed by the author from May 2014 to January 2017.
