Objective: Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) exhibits potent proliferative, differentiated, and mineralizing effects, and is believed to be contribute to cartilage mineralization in Osteoarthritis (OA). However, the underlying mechanism of chondrocyte mineralization induced by CTGF remains obscure. As a key regulator of mineral responses, type III phosphate transporter 1 (Pit-1) has been associated with the pathogenesis of articular mineralization.

Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) has been the subject of studies in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and may affect its identification, diagnosis, intervention, and other medical practices in the future. Although previous studies have used bibliometric techniques to analyze and investigate AI, there has been little research on the adoption of AI in ASD. This study aimed to explore the broad applications and research frontiers of AI used in ASD.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of recombinant human parathyroid hormone (rhPTH) biocomposite on bone-to-tendon interface (BTI) healing for surgical repair of a chronic rotator cuff tear (RCT) model of rabbit, focusing on genetic, histologic, biomechanical and micro-computed tomography (CT) evaluations.
Methods: Sixty-four rabbits were equally assigned to the 4 groups: saline injection (group A), nanofiber sheet alone (group B), rhPTH-soaked nanofiber sheet (nanofiber sheet was soaked with rhPTH, group C), and rhPTH biocomposite (rhPTH permeated the nanofiber sheet by coaxial electrospinning, group D). The release kinetics of rhPTH (groups C and D) was examined for 6 weeks in vitro.

As an important member of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, the aberrant expression of β-catenin has been implicated in many cancers. Chibby, a β-catenin binding partner, is an antagonist involved in this pathway. In contrast, thyroid cancer 1 (TC1) as an activator of this pathway can relieve the antagonistic activity of Chibby on the β-catenin-mediated transcription and is high expressed in human tumors.

Ferroptosis, a unique type of non-apoptotic cell death resulting from iron-dependent lipid peroxidation, has a potential physiological function in tumor suppression, but its underlying mechanisms have not been fully elucidated. Here, we report that the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LncFASA increases the susceptibility of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) to ferroptosis. As a tumor suppressor, LncFASA drives the formation of droplets containing peroxiredoxin1 (PRDX1), a member of the peroxidase family, resulting in the accumulation of lipid peroxidation via the SLC7A11-GPX4 axis.

Introduction: As a very rare form of B-cell lymphoma, plasmablastic lymphoma (PBL) typically occurs in patients with underlying immunosuppression, including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), organ transplantation, and autoimmune diseases. For HIV-positive patients, PBL normally originates in the gastrointestinal tract, especially from the oral cavity in most cases. It is extremely rare to find abdominal cavity involvement in PBL, and there has been no previously reported instance of proliferative glomerulonephritis with monoclonal immunoglobulin deposits (PGNMID) attributed to monoclonal IgG (MIgG) lambda secreted by PBL.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most common retinal vascular diseases and one of the main causes of blindness worldwide. Early detection and treatment can effectively delay vision decline and even blindness in patients with DR. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) models constructed by machine learning and deep learning (DL) algorithms have been widely used in ophthalmology research, especially in diagnosing and treating ophthalmic diseases, particularly DR.

Introduction: Intelligent recognition of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals can remarkably improve the accuracy of epileptic seizure prediction, which is essential for epileptic diagnosis. Extreme learning machine (ELM) has been applied to EEG signals recognition, however, the artifacts and noises in EEG signals have a serious effect on recognition efficiency. Deep learning is capable of noise resistance, contributing to removing the noise in raw EEG signals.

Ferroptosis has emerged to be a promising approach in cancer therapies; however, colorectal cancer (CRC) is relatively insensitive to ferroptosis. Exactly how the gut microenvironment impacts the ferroptotic sensitivity of CRC remains unknown. Herein, by performing metabolomics, we discovered that butyrate concentrations were significantly decreased in CRC patients.

The treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus, which is characterized by defective insulin secretion and/or the inability of tissues to respond to insulin, has been studied for decades. Many studies have focused on the use of incretin-based hypoglycemic agents in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). These drugs are classified as GLP-1 receptor agonists, which mimic the function of GLP-1, and DPP-4 inhibitors, which avoid GLP-1 degradation.
