This study aimed to assess and compare the immediate stress and psychological impact experienced by people with and without psychiatric illnesses during the peak of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic with strict lockdown measures. Seventy-six psychiatric patients and 109 healthy control subjects were recruited from Chongqing, China and completed a survey on demographic data, physical symptoms during the past 14 days and a range of psychiatric symptoms using the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). IES-R measures PTSD symptoms in survivorship after an event.

This study aimed to quantify the immediate psychological effects and psychoneuroimmunity prevention measures of a workforce returning to work during the COVID-19 epidemic. Workforce returning to work was invited to complete an online questionnaire regarding their attitude toward the COVID-19 epidemic and return-to-work along with psychological parameters including the Impact of Event Scale-Revised, Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale- 21 (DASS-21) and Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). Psychoneuroimmunity prevention measures include precautions at personal and organization levels.

Article Synopsis
  • The study introduces an Aptamer-cholesterol-mediated Proximity Ligation Assay (AcmPLA) to accurately identify exosomes, crucial for disease diagnosis and therapy.* -
  • This dual-probe strategy uses one aptamer to target the exosomal protein CD63 and a cholesterol probe for the biolipid layer, enabling specific recognition and enhanced signal detection through rolling circle amplification (RCA).* -
  • The method allows for precise exosome isolation and identification, making it valuable for applications in biological science, biomedical engineering, and personalized medicine.*

Introduction: The incidence of Hashimoto's thyroiditis among patients who have Turner syndrome (TS) has increased, but Graves' disease (GD) in patients with TS is rarely reported. Here we report a rare case of TS with GD accompanied by hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.

Patient Concerns: We report the case of a 16-year-old girl who complained nervousness, fatigue, marasmus, heat intolerance, sweating, palpitation, and tremor lasting for more than a month.

Integrin-Linked Kinase Activation Prevents Ventricular Arrhythmias Induced by Ischemia/Reperfusion Via Inhibition of Connexin 43 Remodeling.

J Cardiovasc Transl Res

August 2021

Department of Cardiology, Chongqing Institute of Cardiology, Daping Hospital, Army Medical University, 10 Changjiang Branch Road,Yuzhong District, Chongqing, 400042, China.

Ischemia reperfusion (I/R)-induced arrhythmia is a serious complication in patients with cardiac infarction. Remodeling of connexin (Cx) 43, manifested as phosphorylation, contributes significantly to arrhythmogenesis. Integrin-linked kinase (ILK) attenuated ventricular remodeling and improved cardiac function in rats after myocardial infarction.

Imaging Potential Evaluation of Fab Derived from the Anti-EGFRvIII Monoclonal Antibody 4G1.

Radiat Res

August 2018

a   Department of Radiological Medicine and Oncology, College of Basic Medicine, Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing, China.

As one of the most crucial epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) variants, EGFRvIII can be detected in various tumors but rarely in normal tissues, making it an ideal target for prognosis, diagnosis or immune therapy. The recently developed anti-EGFRvIII monoclonal antibody (mAb), 4G1, has been validated as a promising molecular probe to detect EGFRvIII expression in tumors by single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography imaging. To overcome shortcomings associated with the whole antibody, including long-term retention, circulation and enhanced permeability and retention effects, the Fab fragment of 4G1 (Fab-4G1) was generated, labeled with I and evaluated in vitro and in vivo to test its potential application in molecular imaging.

LACTB, a mitochondrial protein, was ubiquitously expressed in different mammalian tissues, such as liver, heart, and skeletal muscle. It has been shown that LACTB is downexpressed in breast cancers, and it suppresses the proliferation and promotes the apoptosis of breast cancers. However, its role in the progression and prognosis of glioma remains unknown.

Despite the promising effects of resveratrol, its efficacy in the clinic remains controversial. We were the first group to report that the SIRT1 activator resveratrol activates AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) (Diabetes 2005; 54: A383), and we think that the variability of this cascade may be responsible for the inconsistency of resveratrol's effects. Our current studies suggest that the effect of SIRT1 activators such as resveratrol may not be solely through activation of SIRT1, but also through an integrated effect of SIRT1-liver kinase B1 (LKB1)-AMPK.
