Short term efficacy of subtalar arthroscopy combined with medial calcaneal-talar joint distraction in minimally invasive treatment of diabetic patients with calcaneal fractures: a retrospective study.

Background: The surgical treatment and management of postoperative soft tissue complications in diabetic patients with displaced calcaneal fractures are still controversial. We aimed to evaluate the short-term efficacy of percutaneous minimally invasive screw fixation in treatment of diabetic patients with Sanders II and III calcaneal fractures under subtalar arthroscopy assisted by preoperative musculoskeletal ultrasonic locating lateral calcaneal branch (LCB) of the sural nerve and calcaneal-talar joint distraction device.

Methods: The clinical data of 52 diabetic patients diagnosed with Sanders II or III calcaneal fractures from March 2016 to August 2020 were followed up and analyzed.

A type 2 diabetes mellitus model was established by high-fat diet feeding and low-dose streptozotocin injection in Sprague‒Dawley rats.

Traditional imaging methods have limitations in the diagnosis of peripheral lung lesions. The aim of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic value of the distance measurement method based on ultrasound image-based inverted electrostrain (rEBUS) combined with thoracoscopic lung biopsy (TBLB) for peripheral lung lesions. A group of patients with peripheral lung lesions were recruited for the study, and rEBUS examination was performed simultaneously during TBLB.

Background: Testosterone deficiency (TD) is an urgent health issue that requires attention, associated with various adverse health outcomes including cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and metabolic syndrome. Remnant cholesterol (RC) has emerged as a potential biomarker for cardiovascular risk, but its relationship with testosterone levels and TD has not been thoroughly investigated. This study aims to explore the association between RC and TD in adult American males using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

Neoantigen vaccines represent an emerging and promising strategy in the field of tumor immunotherapy. Despite their potential, designing an effective neoantigen vaccine remains a challenge due to the current limitations in predicting CD4 T cell epitopes with high accuracy. Here, we introduce a novel approach to neoantigen vaccine design that does not rely on computational prediction of CD4 T cell epitopes.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients with early PeAF who underwent their initial ablation procedure. The echocardiographic and clinical data of the enrolled patients were collected and recorded prior to the operation.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the correlation between multiple inflammatory indices, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII), and systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), and VCFs, to explore the significance of these indices in clinical application.

Patients And Methods: Patients with mild or moderate COVID-19 hospitalized at Wuxi City's Second People's Hospital during December 2022 to June 2023 were included in this study. Patients were grouped by the antiviral drug received.

Objective: To explore the feasibility and safety of integrating the geriatric intensive care unit (GICU) into the friendly management model of the elderly critically ill patients.

Methods: A prospective controlled study was conducted. Patients with elderly critically ill admitted to the GICU and the general intensive care unit (ICU) of Jintan First People's Hospital of Changzhou from December 2021 to May 2023 were enrolled.

Clinicopathological characteristics, prognostic factors, and outcomes of elderly patients with lymphoma-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis: A multicenter analysis.

Background: Lymphoma is the most common secondary cause of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) in adults. Lymphoma-associated HLH (LA-HLH) in the elderly population is not rare, however, little has been reported regarding clinicopathological characteristics, prognostic factors, and outcomes of LA-HLH in the elderly population.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed a multicenter cohort of elderly patients with LA-HLH.

In this prospective cohort study, patients with histologically confirmed extra-osseous EMD were enrolled and treated with combined anti-BCMA and anti-CD19 CAR T-cell therapy from May 2017 to September 2023.

[Prognostic Value of DTA Mutations in Patients with Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia].

Objective: To investigate the prognostic significance of DTA ( ) gene mutations in patients with non-M3 acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Methods: The clinical data of 180 newly diagnosed AML patients hospitalized in the First People's Hospital of Changzhou from January 2018 to April 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Next-generation sequencing technology was used to detect 150 gene mutations in the patients, and log-rank tests and Cox regression models were used to analyze the prognostic factors.

Purpose: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) commonly impacts the quality of life in older men. However, there is lack of research on relationship between dietary niacin intake and the risk of BPH. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between dietary niacin intake and the risk of BPH.

Purpose: To compare the pathological characteristics of the vitreomacular interface of the idiopathic epiretinal membrane with and without disorganization of retinal inner layers (DRIL) and to correlate with clinical data.

Methods: In this clinicopathologic study, the samples of epiretinal membrane and internal limiting membrane were extracted from DRIL(+) (19 eyes) and DRIL(-) (22 eyes) idiopathic epiretinal membrane eyes. Ultrathin series sectioning for transmission electron microscopy was observed and correlated with surgery status and prognosis.
