Characterizing Vericiguat Treatment in Heart Failure: A Multicenter Real-World Study in China.

Background: Real-world data on the clinical benefit of vericiguat are currently limited. This multicenter, real-world study was conducted to evaluate the clinical characteristics and therapeutic effects of vericiguat in real-world settings.

Methods: This study analyzed heart failure (HF) patients who initiated vericiguat treatment from September 2022 to August 2023 across nine hospitals in the Anhui Province, China.

Defective recovery of QT dispersion due to no-reflow following acute interventional therapy in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.

Background: Previous studies have suggested that adequate myocardial reperfusion after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) can improve the inhomogeneity of myocardial repolarization. However, it remains unclear whether no-reflow (NR) following emergency PCI involves disadvantages related to ventricular repolarization indices. The present study aimed to determine the effect of NR on QT dispersion (QTd) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and to evaluate the prognostic value of the relative reduction of QTd on ventricular arrhythmia events (VAEs).

Background: Anaplastic lymphoma kinase tyrosine kinase inhibitors (ALK-TKIs) may provoke cardiac arrhythmias. We conducted this pharmacovigilance analysis to research cardiac arrhythmias associated with ALK-TKIs using the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS).

Research Design And Methods: The first ALK-TKI, named crizotinib, was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on 26 August 2011 for the treatment of ALK-rearranged non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

A Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpes virus-encoded microRNA contributes to dilated cardiomyopathy.

Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is the leading cause of heart transplantation. By microRNA (miRNA) array, a Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpes virus (KSHV)-encoded miRNA, kshv-miR-K12-1-5p, was detected in patients with DCM. The KSHV DNA load and kshv-miR-K12-1-5p level in plasma from 696 patients with DCM were measured and these patients were followed-up.

Patient safety value, safety attitude and safety competency among emergency nurses in China: A structural equation model analysis.

Aims: We aim to determine the levels of patient safety value, safety attitude and safety competency and to explore the associations among these variables in emergency nurses in China.

Background: Studies have focused on the individual characteristics of nurses as influencing factors of patient safety but not on the factors that may affect patient safety competency in the context of Chinese culture, such as safety value and safety attitude.

Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among emergency nurses in 22 hospitals.

Background: The chaperonin containing t-complex (CCT) proteins play an important role in cell cycle-related protein degradation in yeast and mammals. The role of the chaperonin containing t-complex 4 (CCT4), one subtype of CCT proteins, in the progress of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) was not fully elucidated. Here, we aimed to explore the mechanisms of CCT4 in HCC.

Association between potentially inappropriate medication and adverse drug reactions in hospitalized elderly patients.

What Is Known And Objective: The Beers, European Union (EU) and Screening Tool of Older Persons' potentially inappropriate Prescription (STOPP) criteria were developed to improve the safe use of medicines in the elderly. However, the predictive validity of existing criteria to detect adverse drug reactions (ADRs) remains unexplored. The objective of the current study was to determine whether the 2019 Beers, 2015 STOPP or 2015 EU potentially inappropriate medicine (PIM) criteria were associated with ADRs.

The purpose of our study was to elucidate the functions of miR-30c-5p on adenomyosis for exploring novel treatment strategies. We first detected the expression of miR-30c-5p in clinical adenomyotic tissues and isolated endometrial cells from adenomyotic tissues. Next, gain and loss-of-function assays were performed to detect the effect of miR-30c-5p on adenomyotic endometrial cells.

Clinicopathologic features and prognosis of triple-negative breast cancer in China: a retrospective cohort study of patients under 35 years old.

Aim: To analyze factors that affect the prognosis of triple-negative breast cancer patients under 35 years old.

Material And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed confirmed triple-negative breast cancer cases from 2000 to 2016 in multiple institutions. A total of 105 patients were included in the study, Nineteen of them were diagnosed with age ≤ 25, and 86 of them were aged between 26 to 35.

MiR-422a in gastric cancer cells directly targets CDC40 and modulates cell proliferation.

MicroRNAs have been shown to be involved in a variety of different human cancers, including gastric cancer, functioning as post-transcriptional regulators of oncogenes or tumor suppressors. This study aimed to clarify the role of miR-422a in gastric cancer and further elucidate the pathogenesis thereof. To this end, miR-422a expression was initially determined in gastric cancer tissues and cells.

Icariin Promotes Fracture Healing in Ovariectomized Rats.

BACKGROUND Osteoporotic fractures are common in postmenopausal women and associated with complications. Numerous studies have demonstrated that icariin can be used to treat fractures and osteoporosis. Herein, we evaluated the efficacy of gavage-administered icariin to promote fracture healing in postmenopausal osteoporotic fracture (POF) rats.

WD‑repeat domain phosphoinositide‑interacting protein 2 (WIPI2) is a protein that regulates the assembly of multiprotein complexes by presenting a beta‑propeller platform for simultaneous and reversible protein‑protein interactions. This study was designed to investigate the association between the expression of WIPI2 and the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Publicly‑available data from the UALCAN platform revealed that WIPI2 is upregulated in tumor tissues compared with that noted in normal tissues in many types of tumors especially in HCC, and high WIPI2 expression predicts a poor patient prognosis.

Effect of short-term intensive insulin therapy on α-cell function in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes.

The effect of intensive insulin therapy on hyperglucagonemia in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes (T2DM), and its associations with β-cell function, has not been elucidated. This study assessed the effect of 12 weeks of intensive insulin therapy on hyperglucagonemia in newly diagnosed T2DM and its associations with β-cell function, with reference to the effects of 12 weeks of oral hypoglycemic agents (OHAs).One hundred eight patients with newly diagnosed T2DM were enrolled from January 2015 to December 2015.

Comparative Study of Percutaneous Sacroiliac Screw with or without TiRobot Assistance for Treating Pelvic Posterior Ring Fractures.

Objectives: To analyze the curative effect of TiRobot surgical robotic navigation and location system-assisted percutaneous sacroiliac screw fixation and percutaneous sacroiliac screw by traditional fluoroscopy, and to summarize the safety and benefits of TiRobot.

Methods: A total of 91 patients with pelvic posterior ring fractures from December 2015 to February 2018 were included in this study. According to the surgical methods selected by the patients, the patients were divided into a TiRobot surgical robotic navigation and location system group (TiRobot group) and a percutaneous sacroiliac screw fixation group (traditional group).

Intramedullary Nail Fixation Assisted by Orthopaedic Robot Navigation for Intertrochanteric Fractures in Elderly Patients.

Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of intramedullary nail fixation for intertrochanteric fractures assisted by orthopaedic robot navigation and the traditional intramedullary nail fixation in elderly patients, and to investigate the application advantages of intramedullary nail fixation for femoral intertrochanteric fractures assisted by orthopaedic robot navigation in the elderly.

Methods: Among the 51 patients with intertrochanteric fractures who were selected from April 2015 to September 2017 in the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University, 25 patients underwent the intramedullary nail fixation assisted by orthopaedic robot navigation (orthopaedic robot navigation surgery group) and 26 patients underwent the traditional intramedullary nail fixation (traditional surgery group). The operation time, the number of intraoperative fluoroscopy images taken, the frequency of guide pins inserted into the femoral marrow cavity, the amount of intraoperative bleeding, and the one-time success rate of the guide pin inserted into the femoral marrow cavity were recorded.

Two novel bocaparvovirus species identified in wild Himalayan marmots.

Bocaparvovirus (BOV) is a genetically diverse group of DNA viruses and a possible cause of respiratory, enteric, and neurological diseases in humans and animals. Here, two highly divergent BOVs (tentatively named as Himalayan marmot BOV, HMBOV1 and HMBOV2) were identified in the livers and feces of wild Himalayan marmots in China, by viral metagenomic analysis. Five of 300 liver samples from Himalayan marmots were positive for HMBOV1 and five of 99 fecal samples from these animals for HMBOV2.

[Synthetic evaluation of precancerous lesions and early esophageal cancers after endoscopic submucosal dissection].

Objective: To evaluate the safety and prognosis for patients with early esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).


Methods: A total of 89 patients were admitted to the Department of internal medicine in the First People's Hospital of Anqing from August 2008 to August 2011. All patients were treated with ESD at the early stage of esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions.

Inflammatory markers have been proposed to predict clinical outcomes in many types of cancers. The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of the lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) on clinical prognosis of patients with osteosarcoma. This study collected 327 patients who underwent surgical treatment for osteosarcoma during the period 2006-2010.

Clinical significance of no-reflow in different stages of primary angioplasty among patients with acute myocardial infarctions.

Background: The coronary no-reflow (NR) phenomenon, which is associated with poor clinical outcomes, is usually referred to as a post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) state. NR can occur in different stages of the PCI procedure, not only including the post-stenting stage, but from balloon pre-dilation to pre-stenting. The clinical significance of NR in the different stages of the PCI procedure is unclear.

Tumor markers in serum and ascites in the diagnosis of benign and malignant ascites.

Objective: To evaluate the values of 4 tumor markers in serum and ascites and their ascites/serum ratios in the identification and diagnosis of benign and malignant ascites.

Materials And Methods: A total of 76 patients were selected as subjects and divided into malignant ascites group (45 cases) and benign ascites group (31 cases). Samples of ascites and serum of all hospitalized patients were collected before treatment.

[Effect of wenxin granule on plasma BNP and HRV of acute coronary syndrome patients].

Objective: To observe the effect of Wenxin Granule (WG) on brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and heart rate variability (HRV) of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients.

Methods: Totally 65 ACS patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group (35 cases) and the control group (30 cases). All patients were treated with routine therapies such as angiotensin conversing enzyme inhibitors (ACEI) and metoprolol.

[Endoscopic sinus surgery for multi-structural abnormality in nasal cavity].

Objective: To evaluate the indications and effects of endoscopic surgery for patients with multi-structural abnormality in nasal cavity.

Method: Endoscopic surgery were used in management of 304 patients with multi-abnormal anatomy with nasal septoplasty, middle and inferior turbinatoplasty, ethmoidectomy and so on.

Result: The patients were followed up for six months or more and no post-operative complications were found.
